I think I have put this in the right category.

I just wondered if anyone has or knows anyone that's made there own origami paper flower bouquets.

It's something that I'd really love to do as I am quite crafty and really don't want fresh flowers as I'm allergic.

    Does anyone have any advic?

I got a DIY page in a wedding magazine i bought recently, they look beautiful, very time consuming, but i'd imagine worth it to the right bride. I'll see if i can go onto there website and find the page and post it on your wall if you like?

Also have you considered fabric and button bouquets?

On 4 weddings the other day, there was a lady who made her bouquet out of baubles!n

    Very crafty indeed.

I did think about fabric and buttons, but really love the kusudama flower ones! Oh I saw the bauble one, not quite me though haha xx

I had never even thought of foam/paper etc flowers before using this forum, they look fantastic! My mum has a huge button phobia and I tease her about it all the time, tempted to make button bouquets just for fun..teehee

I've made foam roses before, for topiary trees. Really simple to make, loads of youtube videos on it and foam is around 30p a sheet in hobby cr@ft :) You can get a good couple out of that!

Button phobia, wow! I thought my cotton wool one was weird but that is amusing!

Thank you for the links. The button ones look a lot easier and less time consuming!

I've never heard of button phobia either, but like you I don't like cotton wool. I can stand the feel of it and writing this is making me cringe!!! X

My mother is a little strange. She doesn't own anything with a button on it and used to refuse to iron my dads shirts (now divorced, not for that reason lol) or our school uniform polo-shirts. I am glad I did not inherit this phobia, it must be so difficult to buy clothes!

I will certainly have a go at foam flowers and if that fails then I see they are reasonably cheap to buy from the bay!

I'm making paper flowers for my bouquet. I haven't found it hard, just takes ages. I found some picture instruction on the Internet and just followed them... All you need is some wire, a glue gun, some paper and a few hours (and then some!)

I would love to see some alternative bouquets because I just don't like real flowers!!

    Good luck! X

Yeah there are loads of tutorials online. I'm not the most patient of people because I'm a perfectionist!

I know what you mean, I'm allergic but not a huge fan and can never keep a bunch at home alive!!
