(Apologises for photos not being the right way up. Was uploaded by phone!)
Anyway, what do you think to the handmade flowers I made last night using harry potter pages. Im a huge fan of potter and wanted to incorporate it into my wedding :)
Im hoping to have em made and finished soon and boxed up so no dust and concentrate on my wedding dress design. Have been told by a dressmaker it wont cost much!!! Eeek cant wait.
Just waiting to shift a bit more weight before looking for bargain red dresses before changing the skirt bit off the dress!! (Photos in album)

i have made absolutely 100's of these kusudama flowers in the past month, been training the daughter to make them too lol. I've been using floristry wire and a button to secure them but its not working brilliantly. Think ill stick to using cheap chop sticks xx

i use pipe cleaners and double sided tape to hold each petal together. since the doubele sided tape is strong, when i put all the petals together it stays together! Works a treat!

~Oooh good idea with the pipe cleaners, ill get some next time im at the warehouse, only reason i use chop sticks is so they push into styrofoam balls easier. I've been using double sided sticky dots. First used glue and loads of paperclips but it took forever! Im seriously considering using these in bridesmaids flowers. I love the look of these

Naomi they are gorgeous but I have one concern the weather as you are having a winter wedding what if it rains wont the bouquets get ruined or how do you plan on keeping them water tight an are the flowers quite strong as paper can be weak and gets soaked and ruined easy not trying to put a owner on your lovely idea just worried about the English weather X

I'd never thought of that Lana. Ours is in July, but still probably will be rubbish weather, maybe just for the centrepieces or decorations? When all the petals are stuck together they're actually pretty sturdy, wouldnt fancy getting them wet tho. (ps, im having a rainbow theme and using post it notes, perfect size and 2 diff coloured ones stuck back to back makes it sturdier)

CommentAuthorNaomiH25
They are soooo easy. What makes it easier is having the correct equipment, I would def recommend double sided tape!! Xx

Has anybody had any real sucess with these? I tried making them but when I put them together (using wire and diamonte button) the bottoms just seemed to fall apart :( I also can't get them to go into polystirene ball never mind trying to make a bouquet out of them....I'd really wanted to make these too

I've been thinking about making my own paper roses bouquet for ages then a found someone to make them but they are a bit out of budget now, so thinking about getting my girls over and us trying to make them ourselves then making them into a bouquets. I found quite a few different doctor who novels online so may buy a cheap rubbishy book in a charity shop and have a go at making a few and see how they come out, then if succesful buy some doctor who ones to make the real thing. you can see in my album what I want to try and recreate!

Started my actual bouquet, my first flowers were waaay to big though lol, so I might try to make them into flower girl wands or summat lol, I've decided 3'' is about right any smaller is getting too fiddly
Still dunno how I'm gunna make stems mind..... Watch this space haha

I've tried florist wire, bent it through the back of a shank button and then popped it through the flowers, I then taped it with florists tape, not very sturdy though
