    Hello ladies

Just phoned up and paid off our ceremony. Quite a nice feeling to have something paid off.

Although slightly annoyed hence the discussion. We get married on the 19th May and all the paperwork we have had from registry office said the balance was 433.50 as i went to pay they decided to point out that because it is after april we are being charged 443.50 now i know it is only 10 pound but surely they should tell you the price for when you are getting married not the current price. If it was anymore would have put a spanner in budget. So ladies if you marrying next summer remember they may put you price up.

    Anyway Rant over

Congrats hun, you're getting married on my bday! lol

We're getting married in a church and the vicar told us that the prices usually go up each year and he couldn't tell us what they'd be until it happened so we're going to pay off the balance this month and maybe have to find £10/£20 next year! But, obviously, it would be easier to plan if you knew how much it would be in advance!

wouldnt mind so much if they had said that although quite glad had a spare £10 in the bank or would have had to hang up and get H2B to transfer more money which could have been slightly embarassing

At the minute we've only got a provisional booking. But the registrar did tell us that when we go this Novemeber for our meetings that if we pay then, we won't have to pay the price increase before November 2012. I've gone through the feeling of being all happy when got things provisionally booked, can't wait to start getting things paid off. But I'm torn between keeping the money in my account and gaining interest on it (also to make sure any of the suppliers don't go bust between now and the wedding) and getting it paid and out of the way lol. I suppose with a registrar they'll never be out of business lol x

Can't believe you can pay it off early, our vicar says we only pay on the day of rehearsal, which is a week before - guess it's so they can charge the current rate! He gave us details of this year's prices under the proviso that they will increase next year by a small but as yet unknown amount!
