Ok, so my son will be 9 when we get married and he is a page boy however, what will he do?!
OH wants his son as part best man, he's only 4, but he wants him up front with him which is absolutely fine.....
The girls will have small bouquets & wands but I feel heavy hearted as I don't know what my boy can do?
Do you think a sign saying 'here comes my mum' will look tacky or would it be nice for him to feel included?

I was going to say ring bearer, although that is usually best man's job, but 4 strikes me as a bit young for that?? I do like IDLs suggestion as it would give them equal status. Who are you having to walk you down the aisle / give you away?
Yeah that would be sweet in your LO had your ring and oh LO had his ring, just have to ensure best man keeps them and then places on cushion to give to LOs or something
CommentAuthorMrs M Wade
Yeah I agree with IDL suggestion. They can both have equal roles then x

Well our pageboy is our son and he's the ring bearer and he is be 2 years old when we are planning to get married. Can't you talk to your OH about his LO having his ring and your LO having your ring x
CommentAuthorKirstyR386
He could do a short reading too if he would be confident enough to. But I like the idea of each having your rings so they are both equally involved. X
CommentAuthorEmmilou82
I think the ring thing would work actually and it's a nice idea..... As you say, it gives them both equal status if you like....
I did think about my LO (9yrs) walking with the 2 flower girls linking his arms either side..... That would look cute and it kind of gives him a duty..... Ok, so not a major major role but he is walking the girls down who will both be 6.....
My dad is walking me down the aisle. I don't want to change that
Many thanks for your ideas and suggestions. Much appreciated x

Glad we could help. Think it would be lovely for both boys to each have a ring, it would be like them bringing mum and dad together x

My youngest daughter was the last of the bridesmaids to walk in and she held a sign

And my youngest son walked me down the aisle with my step dad, hubby's son was best man along with BIL.

I love the idea of them having one ring each, that is so cute! Also love the idea of him walking the flower girls down the aisle, I bet he would feel like the bees knees with a lady on each arm!

My little boy will be 4 also, he will be page boy and he will take the arm/hand of his big sister (9) who is bridesmaid. As she doesnt have a flower to hold, she has a corsage (on her wrist) it wont look too inblanced. I like the idea of ring bearer but trusting a 4 year old with the rings.... I'm not sure. lol. I also love the signs, "here comes mummy" or "Daddy, here comes mummy!"

Well our son will be 2 years old but he's going to be the ring bearer and he's also staying with his daddy so he won't see his mommy until he sees me walking down the aisle x

Our LO will be 3 and a bit when we get married, he's staying with me the night before and going up the aisle with my MOH. I'm thinking I will get him a sign that says "daddy here comes mummy" I wouldn't trust him with the rings lol.
Your boys are a bit older, I think it's nice for them both to have one :) x

My page boy was six with his seven year old sister as flower girl. They walked down the aisle together, and the page boy carried our family teddy bear who was page bear. Neither of them did anything in the service. Page boys often don't but I can see the issue with another little boy sharing the best man role. I'd agree with the others, have them both as ring bearers, but make sure the best man has the rings until right before the service starts. Then they can each have a cushion with the ring tied to it so the ring can't get lost.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.

My LO is our ring bearer but think we will just have fake rings on the pillow. I've said I'll give him his breakfast and spend an hour of two with him in the morning then O.h going to get him ready and the next time I see him will be at the church.
