I've just realised I've not posted the cake we like!


OHs boss is making it for us for no cost (as I understand it!) so we've ordered a bouquet for her, as well as the mothers, as shes getting her husband to drive Adam to the venue too with his best men :)

We're going to try and incorporate our colour with a thin piece of ribbon on the botton of each tier then black on top for the silhouette, if it works! I was lucky mine came a day early! Yours shouldnt be much longer then if its due!

Thank you! I have looked at loads online for reasonable prices, (found 2 websites I'll post on your wall) but nothing I could see myself with. I ended up with this one from the shop but for £65! Pricey but it looks nice and I've been looking for a while so just went for it xx

I knows, I think Its going really quickly, to say that on Saturday it'll be 300 days, but 10 months still seems so far away, I'm sure I've been saying 10 months for the last month, so I think I feel like I've gained a month ha! It's so much more exciting having a wedding twin! X

Ah that would be nice! I've never been abroad but getting the first installment of 12 pounds off the girls to book the hotel was hard enough let alone getting money off them to go abroad! Ha ha x

Oh my! How did you even manage that?! My make up just for me is costing 75 trial and 75 on the day!! I've not even sorted hair yet!!

I've made this document with like a monthly buying plan to buy all the little bits and bobs for the wedding just so I get to buy something weddingy every month even if its just napkins or a bouquet locket :P

Yeah it's unique I've not seen one like it before but I love it! Our moh has perfected the carrot cake and chocolate cake parts so now she's onto raspberry and white choc om nom nom

It's yummy! White chocolate icing on that one too :) Matt's a massive carrot cake fan and a lot of our family members are into it so it just seemed to fit x

I've just piced Adam's ring up, he needs to try it on when he finishes work. We're going to go back to the shop to get mine resized as you can only order in full sizes and I need a K 1/2 (skinny fingers/big knuckles??) and pay about £21 I think she said to get our date engraved on them too :) So we're excited to see them done.

Bought some thicker ribbon in our colour too to give to the florists to wrap around the bouquets and we'll use the thin one we already have for buttonholes :)

The bay! Were supposed to be £9 plus £4 delivery eeach, so I said I wanted 2 and she gave me them both for £20 :) £6 off x

Complete invitations - made our first prototype, starting properly on Tuesday, yey!

Book entertainment (STILL waiting for magicians to send over paypal details)
Menu tasting - will mention it to OH to make an appointment as has to be a Sunday
Ask venue when they need final numbers (so we know before we print RSVPs)
Bridal party gifts - well, OH needs to buy his groomsmens, I have mine!

By the time the wedding comes around well have about £2000 put away in a seperate account to go towards a house but we might be using that for honeymoon, so not sure whether we'll be booking that before or after the wedding - hoping to get contributions as a gift to go towards it.

We've also decided we'll need transport for OH, his parents and groomsmen. His mum and dad are paying for that. We had originally only planned to borrow his boss' car to take him and 2 best men.

Yes, we did somehow stupidly forget to put the time on ha! We've changed that though just didn't want to print out another as it was just a practice, so everything is ready to be printed for the proper ones!

I had my first bride breakdown today. I took my cousin to the dress shop to order her bridesmaid dress - I only asked her the other day as we had fallen for previously when we first got engaged.
The shop said the BM dress I've already ordered 2 of (and due in next month) has now been discontinued! Couldn't believe it. I think the only way to explain is with the pictures. This is the dress I've already got 2 of:



The assistants suggestion was to find a similar dress and that they could order extra material to make the bow and the bit that hangs from the middle. I asked how easy/difficult it would be and she said they do things like that all the time - fair enough. My only concern wasn't the price but I have OCD about everything matching and being the same, so I was really struggling to cope as she suggested it, as of course they could do their best and wouldnt notice as much as I was thinking you would.

Anyway, this is the most similar dress when suggesting the bow to made for:


THe problem with that was that the gather under the bust was on the wrong side so the bow would have to go on the other side to keep to the same design.

When looking closer to the top of each dress together, you can tell the red one doesnt have the pull of the actual dress we've ordered as well



Also the red one has a zip and the girls' dresses have a corset back - so that would take the extra alterations cost to appox £100 just to get it to LOOK like the original dress. I said I couldn't order another dress to try and make it look the same jut pureply because ITS NOT and I would know it wasnt, whether people noticed or not. So I said I would think about it and let the shop know in a couple of days if I wanted to go for it.

So at this point, feeling very deflated, my only option was to go hunting for a sample in my colour of a discontinued dress (about as much change as me turning into a boy than finding one!) My cousin only had her lunch hour to do it so we got some dinner and then I was going to go and look in every bridal shop in our town. I asked if my cousin could google all the shops that I could try and ring the ones further out that I couldn't get to. At this point Adam had rang me and said if you find one and its in Manchester or anywhere we'll go get it wherever it is - made me feel sligtly better. Anyway. Sam rang a couple then decided it was just easier to ring them all (obviously, why didn't we think of that first?) No luck. Then she phoned he stockist directly. They said it was only discontinued in June and it may be possible to get the bridal shop to ring them directly and request one - as I'd already had 2 ordered with them. BREAKTHROUGH! Sam rang the shop and said threy sounded shocked and bit disappointed as they could have made an extra £100 out of me if I wanted to add bits to a different dress. Well, after the longest half an hour, they rang back and said they confrimed the manufactuers would make me the ast dress! Feel very lucky and relieved. So I've now ordered and paid deposit for our third dress!

For those that don't already know, I won an ice cream bike for our wedding at last weeks wedding fair! Yeyyy!!



We will be sending our invitations out next month and I'm booking a consultation with out photographer for October half term! :)
