hi girls,
a couple of people have been asking to see our stationary. I just hope I havent hyped it up too much and you all think its poop haha! The colours arent coming out amazingly well on the camera phone or the pattern but imagine a nice vibrant ivory and an olde fashioned print on the card. Here goes.....

thanks. We made them ourselves (well mil2b from my design) because they were dear enough doing ourselves, let alone if we paid for them. We did have to get a printer though to do all the printing as we couldnt get the card through our printer. Im pleased you say they look professional. Mother in law to be made them so she will be made up.

aww brill. made up. It sounds stupid but I am more impressed with the place cards haha! they look sooooo cute and gorg :) Cant wait until they are printed but need rsvps back first.

no she ran a nursery until last april and then retired so I am really impressed with the quality she has produced. I will ring her when I get hubby to be off the phone for the boxes. Theres two types; one for about 1.40 which are lovelly and a very good quality/colour, and one for about 80p (evening invites) which were of a poorer quality but good enough. These were more of a cream colour but we figured the evening guests wouldnt notice and should just be grateful they have almost the same haha!

lol. Yeh very true. It's still nice to get it in box any way even if it is a cheaper one. :) xx

surprisingly the main issue was just sourcing the materials and the printers.... to actually assemble them was ok. Her and father in law to be had a little production line so one day they would make the bows and glue on the diamantes, another day they would cut the card and glue it together, and another day they would have another production line to make the boxes and out all the bits and bobs in. They claim to have really enjoyed it yey and we are pleased because now we have something very personal from daves side of the family. I am surprised with his dad as he is normally a hillbilly but he has thrown himself into them and is now disappointed they have to wait two months until they can make things like order of the day, table plan etc. We are both so made up with them.

we have just been told the same from a girl who makes her cards... we were honest and said its mil2b and she mentioned about her doing it during her retirement. I am defo going to suggest that to her because she has really done an amazing job. Thanks for the compliment for her, I will tell her that as it will mean a lot to her. She has been worried from day one they wont look professional. She has said she wont let any other bride copy my deisgn tho hehe so they are all miiiiiiiiine :) But I dont mind, I think she should put them on a little website with a couple more designs and see what happens.

just phoned mil2b. She really is made up by all of the comments and said she has thought over the last few hours of doing it but is worried she wont say no to people and take on too many jobs. She will get them all finished but she knows she will over work herself.

gave more out today..... they all loved them woooo. Going to Lancaster tomo to give one to my sister so fingers crossed she loves them. I am sure she will

thankyooooooooouuuuuu.... nearly given them all out now. Just a few left so within 10 days they should all be off my dining room table.

save the dates were easy as our venue did them for a whopping 50p each haha!
The main invites were a nightmare. We had almost given up on ideas until I saw ONE out of literally a hundred suppliers and I thought hmmmmm I like that vintage look and it will work well so I stole a few ideas i.e. the way to have the ribbon and then mil2b spent weeks getting 1001 samples of card so we could choose a decenyt quality. Then we found that we couldnt get it through our printers and then every printer we went to said they couldnt print on the card. Finally we got a printer to do it but they have printed the information cards for a few invites on PAPER?????? so have to re-do them but other than that yes. I am glad I didnt have to source all the materials and just gave her ideas as this was one job I really didnt want to do. I think she has done an amazing job so far and noone can believe they are home made which has pleased her no end. They were still more expensive than planned but worth it and you prob could do them cheaper by using different materials that are similar.
Id do it again (despite the headaches) as we couldnt afford anyone to make these for us,,,, we can barely afford to make them ourselves haha!

dont be disheartened.... literally try all printers in your area but this does increase the cost. It send the price of ours up from £3.50 in materials to over £5.50 so you can either get them to print on it and pay more, or alternatively, could you print on paper and back this on to card? What invites are you looking at? Do you have a pic of what you are envisioning?
