So our venue has been sold and our wedding coordinator is leaving - should i be panicking?
We knew it was up for sale as the owner was retiring but been praying it wouldnt sell yet now with 10 weeks to go :o(
Our wedding coordinator rang today to tell me that it has been brought by a lady who also runs another Best Western hotel and very successful so that is hopeful. She is keeping all existing bookings the same and prices so thats good. But our wedding coordinator is leaving and he doesn't know who our new coordinator will be. He is going to get everything cleared up in the next 2 weeks, ie menu choices, final numbers, etc so the new manager can have it all handed over properly.
Do you think i should go and meet the new manager? Thoughts please ladies xx

I don't think you should panic yet, but I would go and meet the new manager so you have some first impressions before the actual day and just check that everything's going to plan. xxx

I would go and meet them. I think it would put your mind at rest. But I wouldn't worry, our wedding co-ordinator went on maternity leave so we had to suddenly have a new one but as long as all information is written down it'll be okay

I would try and not to worry too much. It seems like you have had good communication so far. Like the other ladies said if you meet with the new manageress you can put your mind at rest. X

I would meet with them (if only to stop yourself panicking). If she's an experience manager, she'll know how stressed you'll be, and should be able to calm you.

If they've been keeping you informed I really wouldn't worry hun. xxx

Millz, I would insists on meeting the new manager and having them run your day due to the lateness of this change.
We had a rubbish co-ordinator who put the fear of God into us 6 weeks before the wedding. I insisted on meeting the assistant general manager and that she ran our day. Had a meeting with her telling her from the beginning and in detail what we wanted and the day was fabulous.
Perhaps also have a look on tr1padv1sor if its usually a wedding venue. We did that with ours and read some great comments about a chap called Jordan and how he had ran people's weddings and we asked could he run our day. Needless to say, it all went perfectly.
Just get it all ironed out with them now rather than 4 weeks down the line because believe me, having the feeling that our venue didnt have a clue 6 weeks before our wedding was NOT a good feeling!
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!

i personally would request a meet with both your current co ordinator AND the new manager.... this way you are all there and there are no chinese whispers, you and current planner can inform new manager exactly where you are at.
Find out who you are & do it on purpose!

Definitely meet the new person, and go through your wedding with them just so you get peace of mind that everything is as it should be.

I havn't got a wedding co-ordinator but if I did and this happened to me and my partner i'd request a meeting with both, even if just for peace of mind x
it's been a long hard road, but hopefully we're getting
somewhere :) xx

I wouldn't panic or worry at all Hun! I'd go and meet for the sake of meeting & knowing who will be dealing with your day & also to settle your nerves / worries! As others have said if she's successful & experienced as they've said in the other hotel you'll have nothing to fear & she'll no how stressed you are & do her best to keep you in the know & calm!! Xx

Meet them and see. The wedding co-ordinator at ours has gone on maternity leave. The lady that has replced her is AMAZING! She has done so much for us, she never ever says no. She's even gotten the manager to take 20% off their bar prices for all our guests for the whole event. So don't worry, you might get someone better!! Good luck! :)

your current wedding coordinator sounds very professional, and if he does what he says he will i wouldn't worry too much yet. I would keep in touch with him and i would also meet the new manager. To put your mind at rest.
