Hi all;
We had our engagement party yesterday. I was slightly worried about the who would turn up and the fact that there was a wedding upstairs in the same venue so I was also worried that it would take the shine of our party but as it was I didn't have to worry about any of it.

My parents and sister decorated the tables as a surprise for us which was lovely. They had brought red and yellow/pink roses for the tables. Some were laid out on their own with plastic hearts and diamonds by them or engagement confetti while others were in red vases with a single rose in them which looked lovely. My sister had the idea of putting little marshmellows into red glasses for people to eat on the table which also looked nice on the white table clothes.

My mum ordered way too much food (she always does :P) but it looked great on the buffet table and went down a treat - there wasn't much left.We also had little plastic electric candles lit up in between the food :)

My sister made 56 cupcakes with little J's,flowers,bananas,butterflys on and shrimps which were lovely and presented on two silver cake rakes. She also decorated the cake we designed (it had a pic of us both in a champagne frame) with little flowers and roses.

The Dj came in about half 5 and set up by the dance floor with his partner which were paid by Jason's mum and step dad.

We put quite a few banners up and balloons. My parents also brought us two helium - You're engaged' balloons which were by the buffet table.

I borrowed my future sister in law's basket and decorated it with ribbons and then used gold tissues paper to wrap up two sweets and turn them into a big sweet with the ends tied by silver or blue ribbons. I made about 60 in total with the help of Jason cutting the paper and ribbons for me :)

The DJ was brill as well and played some great tunes include gangnam style which everyone danced to - I even managed to in my heels which I don't usually wear. Karaoke was great as well; a few guests sang including SIL and H2b :)

Mid night after people had finished signing the guest book; we handed out party poppers and everyone had a great time pulling them :)

At the end of the night we cut the cake for everyone to take a piece home and the DJ announced it as he had with the opening of the buffet so everyone gathered around to watch and take photos.

We also has a 'first dance' which the DJ called us to the dancefloor to do; it was kind of embarrassing with everyone watching and taking photos/videos but so nice.
All in all a great night; just had to share :D
