    Hi Ladies

What's the average cost of everyone's hair and make up quotes I've just got one in £100 for hair and makeup just for bride but £65 for the trial i've worked out for the total will be £425 for trials and the actual day costs for just me, 1 bridesmaid and my mum that's way too much money for my little pocket :'(

Is there anyone out there that can recommend someone in the north east please xx

My mums friends a hair dresser and so is one of my bridesmaids so ones doing my hair and the others doing the bridesmaids and the flower girl, i'm having sewn in extensions and colour and cut few days before so thats £150 and me and other bridesmaid are beauty therapists so i'm lucky with that one but I would say thats very expensive, my friend got married last year and it cost her £120 for her, 4 bridesmaids and her mum. Makeup should only be around £30-£50 for makeup depending on what you want doing x

my hair will be £200 on the day - covering my hairdressers costs for travel. i need some special treatments done beforehand, and a trial at christmas will cost an extra £100.

she is excellent though, and high up at the salon i go to.

    well worth it.

I've been lucky I have managed to find a mobile hairdresser for wedding hair who is charging me £65 including trial - can't afford to get anyone elses hair done as it costs too much and i am doing my own makeup as the girls are happy to do their own.

I offered to do my mum;s hair though cuz she has so little hair straightening it won't take 5 minutes xxx

Shop about as I got mine for £30 each hair and make up and she also does the lash extensions for £5.00 and nails too (forgot how much they are) She is also only charging me £10 for the bridesmaid that is just having her hair done so can't complain at them prices. I managed to find her through my photographers facebook page as I had asked if anyone knew any good make up ladies in the area and a bride that had just got married recommended her. I nearly dropped on the floor when she told me her prices.

My MOH and BMs hair is free as a friend is a hairdresser and will be doing it for me, and sorting me out with a more experienced hairdresser for mine - though not sure of the price of that yet! My makeup is also free - went into d-hams today and had a free makeover and wound up buying a load of stuff at a huge discount (£40 instead of £105) and they've booked me in for makeup on the day for free - luckily it's not far from our house so I don't see it being a problem :)

that's the thing about debenhams - loads of people have been using the make up so you don't want massive pustules in your photos and honeymoon pics.

the best all-day eyeliner i've ever had is the chanel retractable eye pencil. waterproof. it is EXCELLENT ladies and well worth the price - about £16.50 in debenhams and £23 in selfridges.

    i SWEAR by it - it's fabulous

get yourself the benefit primer - but apply it with a firm-bristle brush. this stops your eye liner and eye shadow from slipping. also good for the cupids bow to keep lipstick inplace... top tip x it's called stay don't stray and you can buy it on any benefit counter.

well just bought some makeup with £250 worth of freebies cos i was the last lucky lady to buy there stock before home time hehe gunna have a good old practice since it's designed for sensitive skin, when i told the woman that i was looking for a foundation she stopped me mid sentence and basically said i was wasting my money and i shouldn't be using the stuff because it looks like that's been the route course of my bad skin, she basically recommended a tinted moisturiser, blusher and obviously the lips and eyes and said give it a few weeks and i guarantee your skin will benefit from not been clogged. First woman to not sell me anything lol so i bought the makeup bag with the freebies for pennies xx

With reference to the post about the make up in department stores being used by lots of different people: when I had the makeover at Helen E who will also do my wedding make up for free if I want, the assistant used a new cotton bud to transfer each product individually to the back of her hand before applying it so that the tester wasn't contaminated, and she threw away the sponge that she had used to apply it to my face after she had finished, so I'm confident that I wont pick up anything there! Obviously, I would be far more concerned if the products were being applied directly from the tester!

It's like everything, mention the word 'wedding' and the price doubles! My macup artist is pretty well reknowned and I have booked her for a trial & wedding day macup at £110 each our bridesmaids just for the day are £12.50 each. There are elements of the wedding that I haven't cut back on by order of my OH, my hair however I have got my usual hairdresser to take a couple of hours of work and have agreed to pay her travel and obviously for her time, so I've made a saving there - it all balances out.

Hi I am an Airbrush make-up Artist based in Surrey I sanitize everything that I use on each client that includes all the eyeshadows etc..... I can't believe someone was impressed that a make-up person threw away cotton buds and sponges! How distgusing it would be not to!
Anyway to get a cheap make-up artist you need someone who does not do makeup full time or you need someone who works in a salon or for a department store.
I am mobile in my price that I charge includes travel to and from the bride, it covers my make-up insurance (yes ladies your professional make-up artist SHOULD be insured) it also covers the products that I use and then my time. I do this for a living and I do 1 bride trial per day and 1 wedding per day.....

So yes definitely look around but if you want a Fully Qualified Professional Mobile Make-Up Artist don't expect to pay peanuts if you don't have much to spend either do it yourself or go to a department store.
