So thought I'd try and sort hen night details out early as h2b family live in stoke while I live in devon and my family are in devon and cornwall so inivited people via book of face by creating event a few days ago, some of my mates who I've not seen for few years are coming yet h2b family have instantly said no as 2 far away even tho wedding gonna be here in devon and this exact reason I'm having hen do 6-8 week before wedding so his side could come, plus asking them now gave them time to sort some money out, his side paying nothing for wedding as his parents r payin for their accomotation etc for wedding day and we not asking for any gifts as we know it unfair as they travelling 200 miles to come but would of thought they try to come hen do so every1 cud get to know each other before big day but now his side want me to have 2 hen dos one with my family and friends and the other up there with his side, just dissappointed as I try and go to every family event I'm invited 2 up there like a christening beginning of year but at least I try to come and don't just say no to far and I sat 2 hrs in church for that and I can't stand church!!! I even travel 2 scotland to visit some of his family as they expect but they say it to far if asked the same :( sorry for the rant xxx

I can see why you're frustrated. You did a lot of planning and it's not coming together the way you expected. Tbh if I was asked to travel from Stoke to Devon twice in a two month span I couldn't do it. I'd save the travel time/money and annual leave days for the wedding. Since they're offering to host a family hen do in Stoke it's clear that they like you a lot. I'd try to focus on the positives of what they can do rather than the negative of what they can't.

I think that's really annoying...why should u make all the effort for things and get none back. I think u should say its too far next time u get invited to something and if something gets said just say well u said it was too far to come to me for my hen do! Lol it really annoys me when ppl use excuses like that!

Awww Hun, I see your frustration, you'd think they'd at least TRY and make the effort before declining. Saying that I'm sort of in the same position that my family live in Oxfordshire while me and h2b's family live up in Liverpool, quite a distance and I know that asking people to travel twice in the space of 2 months is going to be tight, especially with the prices to travel nowadays, so am going to try and have a bit of a gap between hen do and wedding, I know you can't have too big a gap, but just enough for people to not be travelling too much in a short space of time. You never know, 2 hen do's might be fun if they can't all make it, give ya another night out of celebration!! Xxx

Yeah was tryin to have a gap but any longer and it be over the xmas period and before that I got 2 ppl who due babies in november that like 2 come as well :( oh well just have to have 2 hen nighs I guess, my h2b aint impressed with his family as he the 1st 2 be called in if any need help but I get where they coming from yes it is a distance but not like I'm asking them to come down all the time and they will of had 2 yrs notice for the wedding so enough time to save up extra and like I said they not payin for accomatation at wedding as it being paid for them and they all coming down on a mini bus for wedding which I think will be paid for them but oh well lmao
