I ordered my flowers in March (getting married in August) from a shop localish to us (Dewsbury). I was told that they'd be ready the week before the wedding to pick up so I paid in full.

I've just been on her website though, and she had her baby in May - but has closed her shop til the 1st July!!! It also says that no emails will be received or answered in this time. When I visited the shop there wasn't just her working, so I can't understand why they've closed (especially as it's the wedding season). This shop advertises on here and is also a member (although not been on since last December). Has anyone else tried to make contact with her or ordered flowers? I've put the link to her site on my profile.

Any advice appreciated as I'm a bit worried now. Surely people will have ordered for May/June?? And all I can think of is what if she opens again in July and is backlogged with orders?? Or even worse, doesn't open again???

thats not good. i cant understand why they are shut either. im also confused why you would pick the flowers up the week before. Are they real or artifical flowers? xx

Have you tried physically going in and seeing if they are open and what is going on? I know that when I have staff off (on leave/sick/whatever) then the first thing that goes is email contact as I just don't have the capacity to answer all of their enquiries when I'm here on my own?

mrsbarker - they're artifical. At the time I only ordered my bouquet because I'd already got the buttonholes online from somewhere else and didn't know if I was having a bm or not (long story lol).

Heather - I'm going to have a drive over this afternoon. The shop actually closes on a Monday but I'll see if there's any notices up outside and if not I'll try again tomorrow.

Kimmy - yeah luckily we've took out insurance which is a good because they cost over sixty pound.

I'll update when I find out any more....

This is the women i booked for our original date (29th april this year) and when she found out she was pregnant all the ppl she had booked during her maternity she emailed and asked if they minded if they got their flowers early which included myself (but i changed my date by this stage so have gone elsewhere even tho i lost my deposit) so when she gets back i dont think she'll have a back log because she will have full filled the orders up until she comes back!

Ive still got the email somewhere if you want me to find it hunni?

Thanks Hails - she seemed genuine when I booked with her so I'm glad she's told you that, puts my mind at rest a bit. Just been on her fb page and noticed you'd posted there last year. Tbh I wouldn't have known about any of this but I needed to order flowers for my bm so went on her site for opening times as she's driving distance from us.

I finally got over to the florist's shop yesterday - and they shop is still open (not sure about online services) and managed to order my bm posy - it's been added to my order, paid for and I'm collecting with my own the week before the wedding. I'm happy again now lol.
