I know the order of everything up to the evening reception I was thinking of guests arriving at 7 but now I'm thinking it's a bit early? We have hot food for the evening but don't know if to serve it before or after the first dance, and what time to cut the cake and do speeches, my photographer will be staying till 9pm Can anyone help (Not having a sit down meal in the day, we don't get married till 3:30pm and won't get to the reception venue till 6pm) Thanks ladies and gents xx

you could have some canapes when the ceremony guests arrive? otherwise you wont have time to fit food in before cake and first dance and the photgrapher will miss it. you can even have cake and dance at 7.30 if you want to and food at 8? but my reason for leaving an hour from start of evening is that people are always late and it means that people wont miss anything x

Yeah think I'll have guests arrive at 7pm speeches 8pm followed by cake cutting and first dance , then food served straight after That so around 8:45 9pm, I'll have a few bites for my ceremony guests at 6 because it is a long time to wait Thanks ladies xxx

i think it depends on the earlier timings - as people are likely to have an early ish lunch and then travel to your ceremony, plus if you have evening only guests, it would be worth keeping your evening reception for 7pm. This way if you served food at 8 or 8:30 after first dance you would be fine as guests who haven't eaten yet or since before the ceremony aren't kept waiting too long
Hope it all goes well for you xxx

You are organised I think. I only know that we are getting married at 3pm, I have no idea of what the other times are
