Me and H2B are looking into getting married at Orchardleigh House in Frome. I was wondering whether anyone else has booked their wedding there/ has already had their wedding there? What do you make of it?
Did you manage to get a discount on any of the exisiting deals etc?
We really like the look of it, but want to try being a little bit cheely and get the price down.... Wondering whether anyone else has tried this here?

We didnt look at it as the minimum numbers were to high for us if i remember rightly - we didnt even look round it My friend looked round it and thought it was v impressive I thought there was someone else on here who had booked it though

I loved the look of it when I was venue hunting but it was a bit too grand and extravagent (and expensive) for our little ol' wedding with just 30 guests. You will get some amazing pictures though if you do get married there.

Thanks for your replies ladies!! Really Nicsquared? :( Do you remember what the minimum attendee amount it? I really like the look of it on its website, but its a good 2 hour drive away from where I live... thought I'd check out some reviews before I committed to the long drive (and expensive petrol bill!!) :) xxx

It is supposed to be lovely. I saw the wedding advert DVD for it and was really excited about it but it proved to be too expensive for my budget and we have quite a big budget up to some people so weigh everything up before you go for it.
It is amazing though! xxx

Our little boys are so cute!
I think it was 80- and we are only having 60- that was for a peak sat in the summer- might be less at a diff time! I thought I found it easily on their web page but I might be imagining things

I found it - i wasnt going mad lol minimum catering is canapé’s from menu 1, three course Wedding Breakfast from menu 1, and evening buffet from menu 1, for all adults with a minimum of 80 or equivalent cost.

If your willing to travel that far why dont you look at Coombe Lodge in Blagdon not as grand as Orchardleigh but not that far behind. In the summer there is a minimum of sixty but there is no minimum amount of food.

Coombe lodge is very nice - you can get married outside if you are interested get in there quick though - we asked in may this year and they had no fridays or sats left in sep 2012 and only one sunday There are a lot of very beautiful wedding venues in this part of the country :)

2013 is getting booked up very quickly as well, we went at the end of september to look at Coombe Lodge and the Friday and Sunday either side of the Saturday we wanted, in July, were already booked. Also they have featured in a couple of wedding magazines recently.

We were a bit disappointed as really wanted to get married outside - i think they are actually really reasonable for what they offer - particularly compared to some of the similar venues around the area, which is prob why they are so popular

Might be a bit late (dont know if you have decided or not) but Orchardleigh was recommended to me by a friend who went to a wedding there think it is quite expensive for the rooms for guests but they also do the £45 all drinks we thought it was good but some of our guests thought it was abit steep.

I just googled it, it looks beautiful! Photographs will be amazing.
Happily in love and can't wait to be married! xx

We went for a visit and were really interested but in the end it was just too grand for us. We only have 150 guests and we felt we would be swamped by the grandness and the cost was too much. Its a gorgeous venue though and the photos of other weddings ive seen there look amazing. Best of luck with the haggling, always worth a go xx

Hi Nicola, did you end up managing to negotiate any discounts with Oarchardleigh in the end? We have provisionally booked for May 2013 and are now at the point of hammering out the costs before we pay the deposit!

Hi.
Did anyone get around to haggling with orchardleigh? How'd it go? Were they receptive and what did you get a discount on?
Cheers
