Good afternoon everyone :)

I've been busy experimenting with the wedding flowers this morning, mainly looking at the button holes for H2B and the groomsmen. He's concerned he's going to look like a clown as I'm having a rainbow wedding and wanted him to have rainbow flower. I've added an album to my photos; I'm new to all of this.. can you all see them in there or do I have to upload them somewhere else?

If you could please have a browse if you have a couple of minutes and let me know what you think, that would be lovely :)

if I'm completely honest I'm not sure about the multi coloured flowers, they look too fake to me. If I was having a rainbow theme I think I'd pick 2 colours and have a flower in each colour, similar to this:

I like the idea of bright flowers, but maybe more like sonyas idea. But I suppose you should ask your h2b, I wouldn't want mine feeling uncomfortable on the wedding day. X

Tips does sound like a better idea; your original choice of flowers were nice but possibly a bit too big.

Yeah i was also worried about how big it is, so thinking of just having them wear a tie and button hole rather than a handkerchief as well as those. H2b isnt very small built so i dont think a larger flower would look too much out of place. Im gonna have to make him give me an opinion on it rather than him saying nothing! X

That's why seem bit large see if u can find Germinis they are same flower but smaller probably about 2inches maybe little more but work fine with button holes xxx

The only mini ones i can find are from america!

H2b has come home from work and said he prefers the rainbow one. I asked him if he thinks its too be and he said no... but im not convinced!

Ive tried dying the tips of a white flower, and had rubbish results! The colours didnt turn out like i wanted, they wasnt bright enough, and when i put another layer on to try to make it brighter, they just went too dark :( xx

That was my idea to start off with, each one of them in one of the 7 colours I'm using... but then he went and picked more than 6 groomsmen which messed up my plan! He's been greedy and having 9 groomsmen including his best man, and then theres him, his dad and my uncle to add to that, so that makes 12 overall! So I was thinking of having 7 of them in individual colours, then him, his dad, my uncle, best man and his brother in rainbow. I'm having 6 bridesmaids plus our daughter as flower girl, and theyre all gonna wear a different colour and the dresses are going to be bright not pastel, so the boys really need something bright too.

If only he could have stuck to my original plan and had 4 or even 5 groomsmen, it would have made life a hell of a lot easier!

Haha I know! He did have a limited number to start with... until he got drunk one night and decided to ask his other friends and then ruined my scheme! Silly alcohol lol but he says that he always wanted them all to be groomsmen anyway. Annoying!!

Thankyou hun :) h2b has decided he likes the rainbow one the best so I think that'll be the one we go with, although one of my arty bridesmaids says she doesn't really like it, so I don't know now! I don't want them to look naff! x

yeah thats the plan with the bridesmaids :) i just wanted something multi coloured for h2b so there wasnt any repeats of colours in the groomsmen, just cant work out hows best to do it!

Yeah thats the plan. I just need to decide on what works best for the rainbow design for h2b. If you have a min would you mind viewing my photo album and letting me know which you prefer? X

They will be having individual colours, but rainbow is for h2b. So i need help on the rainbow part for his buttonhole x

Hmm yeah thats a good idea, but i wasnt planning on having a stem on them i dont think, as the flowers quite large by itself.. x

I love Sonja's idea of having a double buttonhole, you could maybe have different coloured buttonholes i.e. one is blue and yellow and the another is pink and green. The multicoloured flower further down does (please take no offense) look cheap and tacky. Having them all different coloured will keep the rainbow theme but won't look so in-your-face.

Ive just added another photo with a rainbow centre as well as the outside petals (wish i could post pics to this post!! How do i do it!?)

Im gonna order some of the flowers today so i can work on mine and the bm flowers while i decide on h2b's! I need to order some more white ones as well to try that dying 7 single petal idea :) x

Yey my flowers arrived this morning :) so ive done some playing about with a white flower for h2b. Theres 3 pics in my album. One of them i did what was suggested and painted the odd petal, but then i decided to add in petals from the coloured flowers. I tried one petal and 2 petals of each colour. If you could let me know what you all thing please thatd be great. My mum prefers the original rainbow one. Ive not had chance to show h2b yet but ill show him tonight when hes home from work x

Yeah thats true. Because i need 5 rainbow ones in total, you think h2b should be white and his dad etc should be full on rainbow and then thr groomsmen a single colour? X
