I had this idea of making my own flower girl wand, i thought it couldnt be too hard and had a try. Now i am not 100% sure, i like what i have done, but think it looks vert amaturist. Am ready to give up and buy them tbh, but h2b says we have already bought all the flowers and that i have done a good job, he likes it and thinks its pretty. Several friends of mine also like it, but i wonder if they are just being biased :(
I have uploaded a couple of pics to my flower girl and bridemaids ideas album, or the calla lily wand. I would really appreciate honest opinions. I am considering going back to the sewing shop to try a bigger bow, possibly organzer instead of ribbon. Or shall i give up and buy one despite what h2b says?

I really like them. I definately don't think they're amateur-ish at all. I'm planning to make a few things for my own wedding and I think it going to be all the more special that I have made somethings instead of just buying everything.

I think they are really nice. The only thing I would say is that where you have the black and white bow I would make the tails longer so they they hang down and float. (just personal preference) I don't think they look amateur at all and if you look at what sells on ebay I think you will find when you compare them that you have done an amazing job.

I have redone the bow with longer ribbon, and also made my bridemaids bouquets, they match with the same bow etc but have 4 calla lillies clustered together. I shall post more pics up tomorrow. Thankyou ladies for all your lovely words. H2b and his mum have both said that i just need some confidence in myself and they are lovely, mil2b also suggested making the tails from the bow longer and more floaty Jo, so have done that and i agree, it really does seem to make all the difference.

There we go, pics are up on my "stuff we have got" album of my flowers. The 4 flowers will be for my older 2 bridemaids who will be wearing the black and ivory dresses, the one flower wand will be for my flower girl who i plan to have in an ivory dress with orange sash.
