Hello Ladies, im all new to this, finally got engaged this mothersday after 7 years together. We both grew up wanting the same thing for our wedding, but now we are engaged his opinion has changed. We are both from Cardiff, and he is a massive supporter of cardiff city so we always talked about a blue and yellow colour scheme, but now he thinks it would be tacky and that everyone would think we were doing it a a cardiff city themed wedding, as i also wanted bluebirds. He thinks its stupid and doesnt want bluebirds as its the symbol for cardiff, but i wasnt aiming for it in that respect, most people have butterflys so i wanted lovebirds, so kind of like the flying sparrow shape, how can i convince him? I am also struggling to find anything bird related to what i want online, any suggestions would be great, many thanks ladies Dani

hi danis2b firstly congratulations on your engagement and you have come to the right place for ideas everyone on here is very friendly and helpful
i myself am having a garden/bird them my centre pieces are birdcages with flowers and butterfly's, i have a birdcage cake and have bought little bird salt and pepper pots for the tables. lots of us on here are having a bird theme and it can work really well.
i have some beautiful Bride and birdcage invites named love bird and there is quite a lot of bird related wedding items if you know were to look

I think a bird theme will be beautiful!! Very springtime! We are having blue, in varying shades. You could always do blue and brown, if you wanted to have something instead of the yellow - the right blue and brown look very sophisticated together (my bedroom is this scheme lol)

congrats on your engagement and welcome a vintage theme would fit really well with blue birds you could have bird cage centrepieces I managed to pick up some lovely glass birds in a charity shop good luck planning hun x

Congratulations on your engagement. I think you'll be able to find lots of bird related wedding things so don't worry :) You could have birdcages for centrepieces and use birds on your invitations etc xx

Hi DaniS2B - welcome to the site! you are going to be hooked like the rest of us in no time lol xxx Congratulations on your engagement :) Im having a dove/bird theme running through my wedding and have added subtle 'bird' accents to my stationary, centrepieces, cake, place settings and some feathers etc....have a peek in my photos hun...might gice you a few ideas if nothing else xxx

Thankyou ladies for all your lovely replies, you have all given me some fabulous ideas thanks. I like the idea of the birdcages as center pieces with candles inside and clue and yellow flowers and feathers around the cage. I didnt think to look at E B shall have a peek now, hopefully plan to get together a few ideas and pictures, and present them to my finace and see what he thinks, hopefully i can pursuade him. just get all these ideas in my head and i get all excited. Dont want to get to excited yet as we have done budgiting and looks like we cant afford it next year, but plan to go see my mum and see if she is going to help contribute or if she can loan me some money to do it next year, i just dont want to leave it much longer, as we do want more children at some point :-) xxx
