My step-dad has been a father figure for me for the past 10years but recently my real dad has come back into my life, and now they want to know who i want to give me away. Im completely torn as to who to pick x

I would not be feeling obliged to give the job to your 'real' Dad straight away..I think you need to decide whom has given you the most as a father etc..

thank you, i mean my step dad has been there through the harder stages of me growing up but my dad is trying his hardest now, i mean my step dad gave my h2b his mums wedding ring to use as our engagment ring, at the moment im swaying more towards my step dad but ill bear in mind both of them doing it x

If you can't decide, how about your mum? It doesn't have to be a dad....

Hmm, it's a really difficult one, but ultimately, the only person who knows is yourself!

There are lots of things to consider though, including why it is you didn't see your dad in so long, what he's done since you got back in touch - you mention you've had you step-dad for the last ten years, but how much of a father figure he is might depend on how old you are - if you were ten when he met your mum it might be more significant than if you were 20.

It doesn't even have to be a relative- my cousins wife was walked down the aisle and given away by the nearest thing to a father she had known- her new father in law. And I can tell you - no one was even remotely surprised by her choice!
