So i rang my priest last weekend to book an appt to hand in my paper work and to introduce myself (new priest to the parish) i explained who i was and that i was getting married 25/05/13 at the church etc and the details would be in the wedding diary to which he replied they was not!!! WHAT! he said the old priest didn't leave a wedding diary when he left so there wasn't any details of my wedding or evan a wedding to be taken place!!
It's ok now and he has confirmed that he has now put me securely in the wedding diary for that date, but how bad is that? i hope other brides that were booked before find out this info asap as who knows who the priest could double book! soo glad that i phoned when i did!

I know soo bad! the old priest who i booked it with must of took it with him and forgot to leave it because new priest said he didn't give him the wedding diary! just sooo glad that i got the date in writing a few months ago! x

Could the new priest just call the old priest up and ask for the diary? Or is that too simple and straight forward? Lol ;) So silly, hopefully there won't be any disappointed (and angry) couples in your parish! xx

I know you would have thought so lol! a lack of communication indeed! hopefully the new priest is made well aware now! i still cringe when i think about it and the fact someone could quite of easily booked my wedding day lol never mind it's sorted now :) x

jeez thats really bad that he didn't have a diary. does the parish office have one? maybe mention to them the problem you've had and then maybe they can contat other couples or liase with the new priest. cant beliveve the old priest did that xx

at least you didn't go to collect your banns certificate 17 days before your wedding (not enough time to have them read again) to be told the certificate isnt there and you're not in the banns book.... D:

i'm so glad i did it so early so i could make sure they were done and also to make sure that I had the certificate in my hands on the final calling, i got it sunday and took it to our vicar last night so thats done *Phew*
can't believe he doesn't have the diary i feel so bad for some brides that think they have booked :-/

oh my word, good job that you double checkied!! Imagine turning up and the church was empty! haha! Thats quite bad though for the priest to forget to leave his diary with future events.x

Oh god! But then again ours hasnt got a dairy, Becuase mi2b is his Pa! Very handy it is :) Thankgod you checked! Maybe you should buy him a cheap one to say thankyou for a lovely day Lol x
