Just got my brochure for Gosfield Hall and seen the prices for sept 2012 £19000 OMG OMG im devasted sooooooooooo wont be able to afford that that was my dream venue dont no what to do now dont want a weekdaywedding it has to be a saturday sorry ladies but im having a proper strop now putting my little boys toddler tantrums to shame right now help help help
I was like that when I saw the prices for a castle that were 20k. In the end after doing some serious searching I actually found something that fitted all our criteria with no compromises so I was happy. The price was even better at 4k as well. Just keep shopping about and you will find the perfect venue for you. Its not nice when you find something you like and know you can't have it but that doesn't mean there isn't something better down the line.

I wanted to get married at Belfast castle but the prices were ridiculous so we are having a cheap option instead as there is no way I could have afforded the prices they were asking .

if i was having my wedding there next month its 4k so upset
maybe if you got all your gear together you could then book the photographer, car hire and venue at last minute. I'm sure they will do the same offer next year for dates they couldn't fill. Might be worth a try if it is the only venue you have your heart set on.
Is there any way that you can get married sooner? I'm not saying next month, but before 2012?
Why do you love Gosfield Hall so much? What makes this venue so special? Like what XjoX said, think about the criteria and see if there is anywhere else that could be your dream venue.

XjoX - you're right. there are a lot of things you can get together before even having the venue. Also have to think about Church Wedding or Registrar. As long as you're flexible you can do it.

Sian go and see the venues. Thats the best advice you could get. There isnt much choice round where i live, but I made up a shortlist of 3. There was my "oh my god this is my dream" one, the "this will do if cant afford my dream" one and the "just going to cross it off the list" one. And guess what?? My deam one turned out to be the one I least likes, and the one that we were only going to see to make up the numbers turned out to be everything I dreamt about and more! And I started smiling the moment I arrived and totally fell in love with the place.
so please go and see some that are within your budget. You WILL be pleasantly surprised at some of them. And I bet they offer a lot more than Gosfield Hall!

As soon as i saw it I could just imagine my perfect wedding there i could see myself there thats not a bad idea booking venue at last minute but bit ofa gamble dont you think will have to discuss with h2b
or get married there this year for £4k!! Or wait till they have the same offer on next year. Last minute offers are always amazing!

That deal is great for £4k. If you were going to go for it, you'll need to check to see if there is a registrar available, but it sounds like someone has cancelled and they already have a lot of things in place. I guess it depends how far you have got with your plans.

i have nothing so venue was first thing on my list
They will have the same thing next year for dates that don't get booked so as long as you have everything to go apart from the car hire and photographer you would be ready to snap their hands off when they list a date. It all depends on how fussy you are about getting that venue. I would still go and look at the other choices. I thought studely castle would be my dream venue but when I got there I found so many things wrong with it. I'm pretty glad I did as well as it was over budget. I never even went to see the 20k castle as I would have always compared it to the others.

I am sure you will find another venue. The best thing is to make some appointments to go and see these places so you can decide. What do you get for £19k?

This venue was either on 'Don't tell the bride' or 'Four Weddings' last year, I also went to a Wedding there a few years ago.

Do you get the same for £19k that they are offering for £4 next month? If it was me I would always have at the back of my mind I was being ripped off if they can discount the same package that much. Sian what about Sunday 26th August? the 27th is a bank holiday, so most people will still be off.
and to be honest, if people wont book themselves a day off work to come to your wedding, then they are not worth inviting!! they have 2 years to give their work notice!

This is why are wedding is on a wednesday.... but we are having a big party on a saturday!!! That is an amazing deal, i guess if you paid a deposit on somewher else and then this came avaliable at the amazing price closer to the time would you not switch, cancel the stand in venue so to speak?
