My H2B is obssessed with ALL sports! I wanted to get married on the first day of the 2012 olympics then go on honeymoon for 2 weeks so I would miss it but then H2B reminded me that if we did that he would just download everything anyway and I'd still have to watch it all!!!! lol so decided to get married when I want and just put up with watching the olympics! lol x

luckly our wedding will be over and done with before the olymics and don't think it clashes with any other sporting event as its on a friday! Although my friends are put out as it's on the first day of Southwell Festival which we go to every year oopppppsss!

Becky - we got same wedding day! h2b has noticed it will be the first day of the new footie season as well (well most probably will be anyway lol). but i told him i dont care, there is no way im putting any footie matches on during the reception. no matter how much the other blokes cry lol. not really fussed bout olympics dont really watch them apart from the gymnastics lol. as long as it dont cause any delays in us getting to the airports and getting to our honeymoon lol. xxx

I've booked my church for the weekend before everything starts getting closed off and diverted for the police to do their practicing - my vicar made it sound so bad and disruptive that she put me off having it in July and I brought it forward a month! My church is just up the road from Greenwich Park where all the equestrian and modern pentathlon events are apparently gonna be! Thank goodness the opening ceremony isnt until the end of July!

we're getting married on the 10th of aug 2012 in cyprus i thought about it slightly and then thought stuff it lol but now 1 of my bridesmaids boyfriend is in essex police and might not be able to take the time off so she might not be able to come cause wont to come alone which is fair enough as cant afford a hol every year and h2b's cousin prob cant come as in the met police so far its been a bit upsetting
i've got my fingers crossed it al turns out ok sorry for my bit of a downer xx

I looked into venues for June/July (I can be pretty flexible, so thought that would be ok) quite a few places have said hotels are all fully booked- even the start of July! I would love it if it was close to the olympics, because then I could maybe convince some friends to travel for the wedding *and* olympics! :)
I live not too far from stratford, I don't know how we'll be affected by it though :-/

we have booked ours on the 1st of June as firstly it will be our 10 year anniversary, but also I secretly wanted to watch the games without any stress (selfish I know). What we have also found out is that the Monday and Tuesday afterwards are goin to be bank holiday's which means potentially a 5 day weekend, unless you work in retail or the public services of course.... Also hopefully there will not be alot of people wanting hotels around that time as its very early in the run up to the games.

I've just realised if we get married in July, head straight to aus for the second party and honeymoon on the way back- we'll probably miss the whole olympics! How can I have lived in two countries while the olympics were on and *not* have been to either! Think I might postpone the holiday! lol

Everytime I mention my wedding dat 27/7/2012 everyone says 'Oh the Olympics!' I didnt even think about it but now beginning to wonder what will be happening that day! Shouldn't affect us though, we are getting married in Kent so wont have to worry about accomodation etc.
