Most of you prob know by now that i'm an older bride. Iv'e got dark circles under my eyes and apart from having surgery (which obviously i'd have if I won the lottery LOL) I''m not sure what to do. I don't want them showing on my wedding day, i've tried different foundations & concealers but none seem to work, has anyone come across a miracle cover up they can tell me about. xx HELP Please!

How old is an older bride? :-)

I don't think any surgery can do something for dark circles under your eyes - or do you mean bags?

I am 32 and am very pale - I had dark circles under my eyes all my life and even my 3 year old gets them when he's tired.

On a daily basis I use a tinted moisturizer (Nivea is best for me) and a Maybelline concealer (the one called cover stick) and on top a loose powder. If the day is very long and they start shining through I just touch up.

For the wedding I am now considering a primer and a proper foundation - and on top the usual cover stick and powder.

Absolutely not for me but have you considered a spray tan? That may even out.

I'm only 23 and have terrible dark eyes too and haven't found anything yet that covers them up completely but i just use a maybeline foundation which does a fairly good job. I'm going to have to go through options with my mum (she's doing our makeup for the day) about what to use.

I must be crazy giving myself only 6 months!

Colour correcting can be a big help. For blue or purpley dark circles a very yellow or orange concealer will help counteract the bluishness and be less obvious when you've got a normal foundation/concealer shade on. Green is great for hiding redness.

I'm nearly 24 and have horrible dark circles, they tend to be a mix of red in the corners by my nose and then curve out to blue under my eyes. I can cover them up quite well with a mix of green and yellow cream concealers but it's a lot of work to make them appear invisible! This is why I love wearing my glasses. They tend to be the best thing that hides them!

estee lauder do a concealer that works wonders on everything for me, it covers my dark circles and spots when that time of the month comes around lol,my cousin who is in her early 30s also uses it and she has quite a lot of pigmentation on her nose and cheeks, it also covers all of that. its called soothing creme concealer. i found that it works better uder the eyes if used with a brush, but covering everything else, just a dab with finger.

When i was a kid, i always wanted to do face-painting, so i bought a book from my local fancy-dress shop published by Grimas who do professional face-paints and fake things. In it, there was a section on their products that can cover scars, tattoos and basically correct any imperfections. If they are still in production, it might be worth checking out their stuff as i'm sure that if they can cover a full blown tattoo, under eyes would be a doddle

I look like fester adams without make up and im 27. A good quality concealer followed by maxfactor 2 in 1 foundation covers pretty well (it comes in a golden rectangular compact) i wont go out without my face done. Other than that camoflage make up is great, ask your make up artist she will help you with that x

i have dark circles too - all down to genes i think mainly, being pale means that the thin skin around your eyes is more translucent and shows the blood vessels more in the light - not much you can do about it other than cover it up, and make sure that you are properly hydrated as when you're dehydrated it tends to make you puffy and tht adds to the dark circle effect!

if you've got a cool complexion, the advice about yellow pigmented concealers above is good advice. i would get down to a few make up counters and ask for samples in the right colour for your skin tone.. if you get the colour too pale then it only serves to highlight the problem as you can see tht you've added a "white" over the dark circles and this makes them stand out more. Try the clinique counter, as i know they are happy to give out small samples of foundations etc in mini pots.

boots no 7 and l'oreal do good "fake" touche eclat concealers - although its prob worth getting one from from a make up counter 1st time round and getting them to show you where to put it as its a highlighter rather than concealer so doesnt do the job if you slap it on all under your eyes..

I wouldn't use a touch eclat on your wedding day as the light reflective elements can come up a bit white on camera.

I would recommend that you go to a Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown counter (found in HOF, John Lewis etc) as they are experts at base and concealer.....they will show you how to apply the products and you will be a new woman!

You need a Lilac/purple concealer..***************************************************(try this website, you dont get much for the price but you dont need a lot) oryou may be able get it from wholesalers such as sallys, pompadours, Aston & Finchers (any professional beauty/make-up suppliers)...absolutly fantastic for covering dark circles or yellowy skin tones, if you cant get to a wholesalers MAC do a brill concealer, its expensive but well worth the money for your big day xx

Its amazing..i swear by it and i always use it, my dark circles are terrible. Superdrug used to sell one by MeMeMe but it has been discontinued so I now use this one by SBC but like I say you dont get much at all. I am a beauty therapist and we always use this at work when applying make-up.
Put it on before you put on your foundation and dont rub it in, just dab it on and then put your foundation ovet the top x

How does a lilac coloured concealer work?

If used lilac I'm sure it would make my dark circles 10 times worse because mine tend to be blueish purple anyway and the only colour that counteracts that is orange or yellow.

try applying your concealer with a brush building up the layers rather than a massive blob on the end of your finger. I am 43 and I find that makeup sits in my wrinkles round my eyes if I dont use a good under eye cream night and day, I also avoid powder under my eyes as that can looked caked on. I hope you find something, but plenty of kip and water will help too ;)
