    Hi girls, doing olde fashioned sweet buffet and I am printing off the names of the sweets, ideally along with their date. However, I can only find some in my list. Can someone help me research the dates?
    1. Liquorice all sorts (1899) / Pontefract cakes (early 1600's)
    2. Rosy apples -
    3. Turkish delight - 1777
    4. Strawberries and cream -
    5. Rhubarb and custard -
    6. Mint humbugs/mint imperials - 400g mint humbugs for £1.50, 250g imperials for £0.89.
    7. Pear drops -
    8. Fruit drops -
    9. Midget gems - 1904
    10. Jelly babies - 1918
    11. Jelly beans - 1861

    cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
    total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

    i just typed the sweet name in and date invented and a little page came up like wiki answers and i typed each sweet in and the date popped up not sure how reliable it is but worth a try aha xx

    getting there just need to reconfirm the dates on some. Come on ladies really need help going OTT haha. I know its a bit obsessive but I wanted to see how old the sweets actually are and I think it may look nice going on their label. Yes a tad OTT I know but please help x

    thanks for looking anyways Sam. Would it be so bad if I just made them up? This is what I have so far:

    the 60's dates arent right as grandad said he had them as a kid back in the 30's
