Hi I know this is a strange one but I was in my attic the other day looking for some photo's when my daughter asked me where my Wedding dress was that I married her father in. Well it was packed away in a box so I got it down for her to see. What a giggle we had as it was over 15yrs old and in those days you just couldn't have enough details on it, bows etc It has long sleeves with bows on the shoulders and a train that must be at least 3 foot long. OMG I know I asked her what should I do with it, either sell it and get some pennies or give it to the charity shop. She said, "well Mam, I'd really like to wear it for my wedding if you allow me to rip off the arms, the bows, the neck and cut some of the train off as well" I just stood a gasp thinking blimey they'll be nothing left of it, but if that's what you want love then I'd be thrilled to pass it on to you. So what have you done with yours??

I boxed mine up too, and gave it to my sister to store for my daughter.....as she is her godmother. she moved and left the dress in her attic......FURIOUS doesnt begin to explain how i felt. Not that i have any feeling for this dress but my daughter might have wanted it.....or like your daughter...parts of it.

Oh no! Same, mine has no sentimental value but knew one day they would ask to see it or better still use it for theirs. The thing is I believe that wearing a dress that someone has worn before and it has ended up in divorce is a no no. I'm not really superstitious just don't want it to be true if it happens to my daughter after wearing my dress.

mines here in the attic somewhere i will keep both my dresses the first one because the girls dad died 3 years ago, 15 months after we split so i dont like to throw away anything that gives them something from our past together they might one day want it you never know. H2b is fantastic and very understanding we have all my first husbands stuff in the loft for when the girls are older.
I think thats a great idea hun & its lovely she wants to wear your dress, although she wants to modify it lol

Good question, I'm wondering what to do myself, maybe have it made into an evening dress? Dye it perhaps? Or sell it, or charity shop...? Hmmm tough decision!!
