We're getting married in November at our Methodist Church that we go to every Sunday. We were supposed to get married last October but we ended up having our youngest actually on the day our wedding was planned for
I've read that we'll still have to pay £35 each for the registrar?
I have two ideas on a reception venue just waiting on details on which to use.
We've already sorted out our photographer. Ive had this sorted for over a year.
We have our two daughters as bridesmaids (They will be 4 and 1 when we get married).
Ive given my OH 4 things to do: Rings, Caterers, Cake and find a Best Man.
Our colour scheme is Lavender and Burgundy (fave colours me=purple him=red)
We are on a very low budget and paying things monthly when needed done.
I actually have very few friends so I have no maid of honor does this matter?
Ive seen dresses on some websites which are cheap and come from china are these any good or would you suggest paying even more for one out of a proper bridal shop?
I have no idea on a DJ.
I'd love to design my own invites but I know wont be as good as a person who knows what they're doing. I know what I want in a way but it's just hard to explain when usually I design my own things on photoshop.
This is pretty much all I have done and can think of.
    Any ideas/help would be great!

    Holly x

look on the bay of e for invites and such, we got ours from a graphic designer selling them off cheap.
you dont have to have a maid of honour, or you could ask a close relative like an aunty or sister.

    Welcome Holly.
Sounds like you know what you want.
I'm not having a MOH, I have 4 daughters as BM and FG so think that's plenty. Its not complusury to have one.
I don't know about the registrar, I thought that was only for registry/hotel weddings.
I went to a cheap shop (pretty much what you see advertised from China but here in the UK) and you get what you pay for in my eyes. That's not to say people havent loved their dresses, but they weren't for me.
DJ...I cheated and she came with the venues recommendations so he's booked her for us.
If you can DIY, try it. Its a great sense of personal pride delivering them when you've put so much hard work in. Just give yourself plenty of time to do them so you're not rushing.
Think that's most of your points.

UKBride is a brilliant helpful and supportive site, just jump in and you'll soon get the hang of it xx

I do have a sister but I just don't see the point in sort of giving her a part in the wedding when she doesn't exactly help me out. She was already bridesmaid in my brothers wedding which I wasn't invited to.

Thank you for the invite advice x

Thanks GC2B. I dont think there are actually any cheap shops around here. The one local to me had the cheapest dress at around £2,000!

Your doing great, looks like you got most bases covered. Ebay is the way forward. Also, dresses from china are great but what they do not tellyou on the web page is that you will then be charged the export duty which is as much as the dress and also you don't get a bill for this from the company you get it from customes about a month after the dress arrives. (this happened to me when I was a bridesmaid for a friend).
Also use the tool on here to get quotes for DJ's or ask your venue if they have a dj they can recommend.

    Good luck x

I'm glad you told me that. I'll be looking for a dress from the uk then. I know that venues usually have a caterer they like working with so ill ask about djs too!

There is a lady (she who must not be named) who lots of brides on here have used & highly recommened. She is based in the UK & does excellent replica's, for a quarter of the price! I spoke to her the other day & will be ordering my dress from her later in the year. I can pop her details on your wall if you want? x

Your page is restricted, if you un-restrict it, I can add you & pop the details on your wall :) I've also bumped that thread for you. The title says something about dresses from China, I can't remember it exactly! Lol x

If you go to your details & the bottom bit says about public comments or something, if you make it public, people can then add you as a friend etc :) hope that makes sense lol x

Im so happy. My OH has actually contacted a cake creator and said it will cost about £153 for the cake i want. Her daughter does catering so gonna cost about £4.50 p/p and then £1.25 p/p for deserts. Hes actually emailed the one venue to ask prices as we already know a rough estimate on the other venue we had in mind. I'm looking at so many ideas on how to do my invites and my mum said if i find any cheap she'll actually buy me them or the stuff I need!
I didn't think he was really bothered in helping me as I asked him about 4 times today to email venues.
We've even realised we may have more for our budget than we first thought :)
