just trying to get my head round this one girls, i had a phone call late last night from MOH who didnt quite know how to tell me that NO-ONE is coming to my hen night. To my knowledge i haven't upset anyone or done anything wrong, so i don't understand? I have to go into work today and put the face on in front of them all and make out its all ok, but its not!

Maybe it was just planned for a night that wasn't suitable for everyone else. I think we must be programmed to think negitiviy, we sometimes it's just stuff out of our control. I think the only way you'll know why is my asking your friends why they are not coming, maybe as above, might it be a surprise?

I had something similar said to me the other day, I was mulling over a few ideas with a couple of friends thru email at work. Nothing too pricey, £150 maximum and that would have been for a whole weekend of things, adventure activity things, meal, big night out with over night stay, travel etc Even tho the hen do would be 15 months away they played the being skint card. These are long term friends of 7/8 years who I see a lot. They could save £10 a month between now and then and have the money. One of them earns over 20 grand and lives at home!!!! I put so much into my friendships and I guess I just expected the same back in return. It's really hurt me..........

well i went into work with the " smile " on my face as mentioned. I never said a word and then about 2pm, one of the girls asked if i was ok. well that was it. I told them i feel very hurt. That if they didn,t even want to come to a hen night then what makes them think i want them at my wedding or was it just the fact they would be getting free food and booze and disco at my expense and effort??? I have told them the hen night is cancelled. I will have a quiet night in with film and chocs instead. I cant believe 20 people could be so horrid. x

I think that is disgusting of them not to make the effort for you. Even more so that they haven't even be bothered to tell you they are not coming and you have to find out through someone else. What did they say when you told them? I hope they are hanging their heads in shame now. If you lived nearer I would come out with you. Its amazing at just how many people this is happening to. I really can't understand how so called friends can do this.

Thanks ladies, your support is really appreciated. H2b is fuming with them all. They are all being two faced and making out that its child care issues or cant swap shifts blah blah, but they have had 18mths notice so i dont believe them. I have organised a night out with 6 of my cousins instead- Sod em eh and at the wedding i shall not be quite so happy to see them ha ha. I feel really let down by them all. I wish we all at uk bride lived nearer then we could all have one massive party xx

i liek suzie bears idea. A friend of mine had a hen the other day and two of our mutual close friends refused to go saying no money.... well they were completely gutted when the bar messed up and didnt decorate... therefore for only a tenner we had loads of food sent to the table, a better table booked in the acutal club when we were ready to move to the club next door which is normally 30 quid to reserve and drinks all night long. Ws as fab... they missed out and it served them right, I would make the effort for anyones hen if I was respected enough to be thought of and invited in the first place

I'd make a point of saying to them that it's funny how they're all sending their rsvps to the wedding after you said how horrible they were not coming to your hen night. I really think unless you knew there was genuine reasons why some may of not been able to come, like not being in the country, or ill, i'd say not to bother coming to the wedding either. True friends will of done whatever they could to make your day special including your hen night, you can always make new friends and shouldn't settle for them when they don't deserve you as a friend. I'm sure the uk girls on here will raise a glass for you hon and wish you all the best xx

Aww... I have sent 18 Invites for my Hen night over 3 weeks ago,, its in 3 weeks time.. i have not had ONE reply yet only my BEST friend, and my daughter and step daughters.. These are supposed to be my friends god damn it...
Im arranging my own hen so i know there wont be any suprises.. But do i giva.....? Nope!! If no one turns up then it will be more money for me and my best friend and daughters to get trolleyed lol...!!

im leaving mine to sisters and they are adament we are going to york. This means fewer ppl can afford it but it is less messing as then we only get the main ppl there anyways. neither of us wanted to mess with ppl mucking us about.
