I'm also wondering whether, when you're on mat leave, if you actually spend very much, especially the first few months? I guess you may not go out as much?

there is a government calculator that tells you what you will get paid. we are saving to cover my loan for the last two months of paying it which is typically the first two months on maternity. Other than that I will just manage to pay my share of the bills and have petrol in my car to get out with baby and the dog.

my SIL spends a fortune on baby classes for her son like baby sensory I think she said was £65 for a 12 week course and she's done baby massage and baby yoga and all sorts. she's never in although now her money isn't as much as she was on before (she's a teacher with a great maternity package) she is starting to struggle to afford to do what she wants

Don't worry about that! More than likely friends/family will help. And there is no law that you have to buy the most expensive stuff! My husband and I, altogether are on 17k between us. If we can manage, I'm pretty sure anyone can. We have got a cot bed for £50. It's all about looking for bargains.

I do like a good bargain. Hoping too we'd be able to borrow from family and friends when the time comes.

At the moment though I really just want this to happen and it's just not. Do you think I'm too old maybe? I'll be 34 this year.

we get 34.5K basic wage plus commission and we have just about managed. i'm putting together a wish list atm. I hit the boxing day sales and got a pram with car seat for £90 and a steriliser kit for £65 down from £140 so its all about bargain hunting. I bought my boob pump from ebay brand new in box and I've been hitting the facebook groups for nearly new stuff so I got a bottle warmers for £5 saving myself £12 brand new in the box.

got my cot for £60 from ikea and just got some other bits to get like my changing table and drawers from there which come to £100. wallpaper is £8.99 per roll for the nursery and the lining paper and paint for the rest of it which is about £15. it can be done on a budget you just have to shop around.

my parents are great as its first grandchild so they've been spoiling it like rotten but she's waiting now to find out what it is before she goes mental. same with jon's parents they are sending us for an early private scan to find out so they can go mad bless em.

Get your BM's to organise a baby shower as well and just put together a small list with stuff sort of under £30 and send it to everyone. You will get some of the stuff off it but not everything and loads of other stuff you don't want but its all stuff you will use.

I'm not 100% sure. But it prepares your body for pregnancy. Although, when I fell, I wasn't taking it.

The only other thing I should say is don't stress about it. The more you do, the longer it will take. Don't even think of it as trying. Start a new project/hobby to keep yourself distracted and just have fun ;) it'll happen when it's ready to happen. Stress will just prolong the experience of conceiving. Hubby and I only conceived when I was distracted by starting college. The other months before, I was literally waiting to catch and getting extremely upset when I didn't.

sick to the back teeth of getting every germ going!!!!!! got a cold now and can't take anything for it apart from paracetamol, great but I can't keep them down they make me vom! I've got some halls soothers and some and honey and lemon to make hot drinks but even that is making me want to throw up now. The cough has started today so I've had to get some glycerine lemon and honey cough syrup (which I've read is fine) to have just to help. tastes lovely but doesn't really do much.

Kinda feel like so many things have changed since getting married, don't get me wrong, hubby is great and being married is great, it's just a few friends seem to be less interested in spending time with me since I got married. Why do MILs set out to make you feel so rubbish?

I have had trouble finding a job since falling, until I was provisionally offered a job on Fri. When I mentioned that I was pregnant, the guy's face fell and I was worried about things. In fact I still am. I was supposed to do induction etc either today or yesterday but nothing. I've been ringing and ringing and he's on about speaking to HR etc.

Anyway, MIL has just been round, and when I told her I didn't want Nath doing a sleep in at work tonight she went spare. Started going on about how we need the money and how my "JSA isn't helping very much, is it?" I'M PREGNANT! I don't want Nath out all night when he's been out all day as well! Apparently she's "surprised he still has his sanity" cause of our financial situation.

So now, I feel like this selfish cow, and that it's my fault that we have no money. I have since rung the job again and things are apparently still on track, but I still can't help feeling panicky. And as I'm hormonal, I am currently sitting here bawling my eyes out.

Sorry girls, just had to rant

Do you have a job offer in writing? They need to be careful if you were all set to go with a provisional offer then just because you're pregnant they start messing around. You could have a claim for s3x discrimination!

I know this. When I went into the interview, it was "just a formality" and then said that I would be starting beginning of this week. Apparently he's still waiting on more numbers before he sets up an induction day.

I feel low on JSA at the best of times, as I hate "sitting around". Let alone whilst 4 months pg and hormonal!

IDL - i know its easier said than done, and i guess i cant really talk as not going through it personally, so tell me to shut up cause i dont know what im going on about if you want too......but positive mental attitude!!!
You are going through alot at the moment by sounds of it, with friends and family...its a lot of stresses plus the whole TTC... you're putting way too much stress and pressure on yourself. TTC alone can cause so much stress anxiety and pressure let alone life around it.
You need to take a step back, focus on other things... focus on your sister and her husband until they go... have some time out with your hubby, some relaxation. take your mind off the world and just breathe.

BabyDreamland will appear when you least expect it, and when your mind is focused on other things. You've said so yourself you're feeling rather down, and I know it really is easier said than done, but getting yourself upbeat and positive will impact everything and everyone around you, and in turn yourself... in time it will happen. Everyone has their time and their place and your's will come soon enough im sure.

As for you MrsD.... Ignore your MIL... you know i've said it to you before, I won't repeat it, you've heard it all... just know im there for you when you need... as for the job... just keep contacting him as he has asked you too and take it from there. In this day and age formalities and HR just take over...it does feel crummy sitting around waiting, but for the time being you also have MiniD to focus on, and less than 48 hours till you see he/she again so chin up!!

All good things come to those who wait ladies...trust me im an expert... and one day my TTC journey will begin...but for now im your support whenever wherever you need. Really hope you dont mind me commenting in here despite no baby bump..does flabby bump count!?! :p

    xx
