Question - How is everyone transporting their dress? Hand luggage or in the hold?
Really not sure I trust it to be safely loaded on the plane by the baggage handlers. Been looking on bay of e at dress bags and boxes.

I think that would be ok if you put layers of tissue paper between and have a few days after getting there to let it hang in the bathroom.
I think my worry is I don't want it out of my sight as in the past I have had 1 or 2 bashed suitcases from the handlers rough treatment. x

I have seen a wedding dress travel bag which is much cheaper than the official ones which can be £40+ Its hand luggage size and £7.50 so I may buy that for peace of mind.

Just been reading HM customs and finding myself more confused than when I started on the subject of fresh flowers and wedding cake.
It says in 1 part that you are allowed to bring one bouquet of cut flowers (up to 50 stems) as long as they are disease and pest free, from an EU country ....but then says elsewhere that even though Cyprus is an EU country that in certain cases it is not classed as an EU country?????

Also there may be restrictions on certain fruits and nuts so what if you have a top tier of fruit wedding cake to bring home?
I am just curious more than anything as I am having foam floweres and chocolate cake but useful to know if anyone has a clearer idea on whether a bouquet of flowers and a top tier of fruit wedding cake needs to be declared on entry back into the UK.

I am getting married in 12 weeks. At Paphos town Hall, then a champagne reception on a yacht, then on to a traditional taverna for our evening reception. In the process at the moment of paying balances so now it is all getting very real. We didn't have a wedding co-ordinator as we wanted to do it ourselves and also my uncle lives in Paphos. Found it all very straight forward up to now. Just booked our appointments with solicitors for our affidavits which cant be done until maximum of a month before the wedding date.

I have just seen you are getting married in Sept/Oct 2013.....sounds like a lovely month to have your wedding in Cyprus. It shouldnt be too crowded either.

Do you have an email to talk to your wedding co-ordinator direct? They may be able to clarify a few details. Are you having many guests?
If you are not having a sit down meal then you don't need place cards, unless you have a place card/with or without a favour close to the entrance of your reception room/area where guests can collect it and find their own choice of seat if available.
Did you want a sit down meal? I am sure the wedding co-ordinator will work throuh different options of food choices.

If you are having a dj/disco/live music or your own music on cd you will definately be able to have your first dance.

Sashes for chairs and other things should really be provided by your hotel but I would check this with your co-ordinator.

You will have millions of questions, we all do when we start out. The good thing is you have a decent length of time in which to have it organised - take a deep breath and enjoy the planning - we will be here for you every step of the way, and fire away with the questions, if we can help we will! xxxx

I have never been to Cyprus either and am only really familiar of Paphos through my uncle living there. I have looked at Nisi beach before and it does look amazing... you will have a stunning beach wedding.
I do know that Cyprus is split into Northern Cyprus (Turkish) and Southern Cyprus (Greek) with border crossings in between and that you require your passport if you travel from 1 side to the other. I will send you a link to your wall which details this better.

If you hover your mouse over My Wedding at the top of the page you will get a drop down menu - Click on - My Details - On this page when you get close to the bottom you will see a box which says - Wall Permissions - If you change it to - Friends only - it should unrestrict your page hun xx

I think you need to press on Friends Only and then tick all 3 boxes as it still shows restricted. xx
