Yeah I think they can, but I would rather do it here in england and get it over and done with.. after all once its done I know the wedding is deffo going ahead
If the Affidavit isnt correct they can refuse to marry you, hence why im waiting so i know its right x

Jo emailed me back today and said she would need a £200 deposit at the time of the booking, once its all been confirmed and I have a booking form sent? Im having my wedding in the hotel so not sure if that makes a difference when it comes to money swapping hands?

She is really good, has been really quick with her responses and given lots of advice even though no money has changed hands between us as of yet-I want to be really sure first.
I want the holiday prices for 2013 to come out really before I book so I know how much its costing and will book holiday and wedding the same time (I Think they come out in May and Heidi is getting married then so can find out what Jo is like too)

No we are getting married in Geroskipou gardens, (the cheapest option/and its different to most weddings so im happy) Yes the day after we arrive Jo will collect us from my hotel and take us to the paperwork meeting.. The only think i have booked through Jo is the ceremony & photographer hun, but there are loads of extras, we just cannot afford them

heidi, how much are you paying the registrar when you get there?? is it 300euros for them to marry you away from the town hall?? it's 282euros to be married in the hall. just incase that makes a difference to you. i was looking at just having the registrar marry us at the villa as it was cheaper than transport
edit: just checked the pricing and it's 650euros to get married away from the town halls

Its yeroskipou town hall but its within gardens in an outdoor setting. The cost of marrige license and ceremony is €281.92 Unless you marry on a Wednesday:-Compulsory marriage licence fee with afternoon ceremony between 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm (available on Wednesdays only, except July or August) € 281.92
Registrar
For afternoon ceremonies held at the town hall with a private registrar, there is an additional cost of €145.23 plus the marriage licence fee of €281.92. For ceremonies which take place at hotel/gardens from 3pm onwards the charge is €350.26 plus the marriage licence fee of €281.92. Such ceremonies need to take place within the jurisdiction of Yeroskipou Town Hall.

Bridetobe - Strange that you mention Wednesdays are the day you can get wed later in the day. We were told Thursdays are the only day you can get married later in the afternoon. Our wedding is booked for 3pm on a Thursday....made me panic for a second but I've been in touch again with Paphos Town hall and they have confirmed it is Thursdays. It must be different for each town hall maybe. xx
Heidi I took the sample affidavit in on Friday to the solicitor and yes they said it is fine and they will sign and stamp and also provide a business card, however the lady wasn't 100% on price but said it was around £5-£10 each.

Hi ladies, Just joined this forum (after lurking and getting lots of ideas and information). Especially useful was the info on the wording for the civil ceremony, how many pieces of music you can have and adding personal vows. Can anyone tell me that if I wanted a couple of readings (not religious of course) - my MOH and best man were going to do two - whereabouts in the ceremony would they go? Thanks :-)
