Oh it's just a pretty bag for the wedding day to keep my phone, money and makeup in. I didn't want a ivory bag as I would never use it again, found a pretty pink sparkly bag.

I bought my FB dresses back in the summer, I ordered a 9-10 and 6-7 as the two girls will be 9 and 5. Will try the dresses on the girls around October time. I am more worried when to go shopping for my daughter, she will be 12 when the wedding comes around but she has recently started to develop. I bought her a dress for Christmas in age 11 and it's only just fitting her! She was 11 in September! I had planned on taking her in the summer but wondering if I should leave it until this time next year.

I need to start breaking in my shoes, my feet are so not used to being in heels anymore, I wore them for a whole 5 mins at a fitting and had to beg my MOH to take them off hahaahha
Has anyone debated doing overnight bags for Bmaids / groomsmen etc? as a little momento.. I know its money but cant work out if its worth it or not.
Also have you had a think about supplying breakfast buffets to rooms etc at all?

I'm doing a bag for the morning of the wedding for the main people in the bridal and grooms party. Most of us will be in the hotel so breakfast is provided, not too sure yet whether we will need it in the rooms depends how the trials go in October.

Our ceremony doesn't start till half one and I'm thinking of leaving the hotel at 12:50 so I might ask the hotel if we can have some pastries and fruit brought up about 12.

We will be getting ready at my house so I have tasked my mother with sorting out a good brunch buffet for everyone as we aren't getting married till 2pm.
She suggested ordering in something so I won't have to think about it.

So this is random but I think this is how the whole wedding planning thing works.

I think we may have agreed on table names. We want a few touches of medieval and fantasy as we both love these but don't want it to end up being too much. We have been tooing and frowing with table names forever, castles, battles, famous knights bla bla bla , our friends had castle names so I felt a bit funny stealing their plan! I have also decided on the kind of table plan which is themed on the shape of a family crest / shield (pic in albums)

So we are thinking about dragon names.. its a bit different, not completely obvious so it should get people talking and a little touch of the medieval / fantasy

    thoughts?

Dragon names would be so cool, we I think it would be haha. You could even get a picture of the dragon as well if you wanted to. Ours are named after books and I will be putting the name of the book and fan art onto some card which will be the table number.

Dragon names is unique and you could be inventive about how they look. I think it's a great idea.
We're doing bottles of Rum as our table names.

    Love the Dragon Names!

We have authors for our table names. Our candlelabra will stand on top of books by the same author. So far I have Austen, Dickens and Hardy. The top table will be a quote from one of my favourite novels.

You may find a venue who's caterers will do you a lovely fish and chips which they could serve in cones or something unique.

I would find the perfect venue rather than rule places out due to wanting the van.

    Flowers!!!

I am tempted to do my own surely it can't be that hard and I could do them on the Friday before the wedding. However my mum voiced that she thinks I should go to a florist so that I don't have to worry about anything and it will all be done for me.

I am always a bit wary with online. If they let you use PayPal then they are normally safe as it's protected.
This site doesnt so I worry if it wasn't right you may have a struggle to get your money back.

I would be very wary of using the site.

I have spent the afternoon removing the labels and glue residue from jam jars. For anyone who is thinking of doing the same don't leave it too late! The glue is an absolute nightmare to remove!

I would be very wary about buying a dress online, make sure you use pay pal and a credit card for double protection if you do..

Flowers - defo do a dry run and see how it goes but it is a lot of added pressure on yourself as you have to buy them ahead, store, fully prep, present and preserve them for the day. xx

Our venue were really flexible on caterers it was one of the main reasons we went with them, we can use whoever we want but have to pay a small facilities charge (I guess as they lose money) but its much nicer to be flexible. Maybe ask your venue if they have an approved caterer list you can look through they may have something on there?

    xx

Why... why did I think it would be a good idea to organise wedding things and buy our first house at the same time?

We currently have 3 viewings booked with 2 different estate agents on Saturday.

A meeting with a potential photographer on Sunday morning, then another one next Sunday.

I also have emails and phone calls all day about properties, cakes and all sorts.

After being off from work for 3 months, and only being back a week, I think it's all getting a bit much! But it'll all be worth it in the end.

It's all exciting stuff you can do it.

2014 was a year like this for me, I said bye to my father, graduated university and brought our first house. Crazy year but I made it through!

I am having band changes of heart, my H2b loves the band we've picked but I am not sure they are 'party' enough for me. Now I am worrying.

I have ordered some pretty peacock and metallic washi tape to make micro bunting for some decs. also still trying to decide how to decorate the arch way over where our ceremony is held, we aren't allowed to obstruct it as its a fire exit door but I don't want to pay for flowers to decorate it.. not sure what will be visible apart from flowers...
2015 was our year of madness, buying our first home, sorting everything out and family just being family haha.

we decided on bmaids dresses yesterday £225 each though! from M4rk L35ley collection

If you go to bridal store and order from a bridal designer a dress can be over £200.

I've found my MOH dress on A505. It was reduced to £39 from £65. W3d2b have lovely dresses, priced between £40 - £80

I had a budget of £100 per dress.

    Morning Ladies,

Feel like I've missed loads not being on for a week.

Wow Em that is a lot to take on but I'm sure you will find a pattern of sorting things and that will make it easier for you.

Those jam jars are so cute Lynsey kind of makes me want to change my theme haha.

Congratulations on finding your bridesmaids dresses Liz, are they taffeta? The peacock metallic tape sounds lush can't wait to see some pics.

Budget for Bridesmaids dresses is totally your choice Amy, there are plenty of options available. I found mine and paid 70 for 3 dresses through pr3l0v3d (pics in albums).

Me and OH sat down last night and caught up with paperwork for the wedding (contracts and proof of deposit etc) made a few decisions regarding gifts and logistics for the day. My countdown finally went under 500 days.

Looking forward to a parcel arriving soon, with loads of little bits in like personalised slippers, gift bags and glasses so excited.

    Hey,

Unfortunately I am really hard done by on getting BM dresses from the high street due to the colour, almost nowhere stocks a decent dress in a peacock colour , I have spent hours and hours searching with very limited finds and even the ones we do find aren't that nice. 225 is definitely more then I wanted to spend, W3d2B3 had ideal dresses but they are currently selling off all stock and getting new ones in, until they do that I cant assume i' going to be able to get them from there anymore which is really gutting.
The BM will be in my pics forever and we also have a premium on costs being so close to oxford we are finding everthing costs about 20% extra , sort of like London prices. So budget shopping is even harder

MOH has free reign, i'm either mad or trusting but looking forward to it. Getting Married in May means we are surrounded by colder months so I think she is aiming for august time. Sorry I am a little south to know your area. Have you tried asking your venue? We used a DJ suggested by our venue which has worked out really well as he is quite well known and actually DJ's at the Butl1n5 big weekends and stuff,
Also do a provider search on h1tch3d is gives loads of options xx
