We are focusing on saving, the probably putting together a list of what we actually need to buy for DIY and stuff. Also will need to work out when we are going to send the actual invites and when people need to RSVP by.

Thinking about booking the suits a year in advance to secure the booking, not too sure if that's too far in advance though?

We are having an engagement shoot next year as well with our photographer and will have a few things to fit in like a meeting with the church, the cake maker and videographer.

I will need to go back to the dress shop after I have lost some weight would like to order my veil and get my alterations booked in.

Planning on having hair and make up trials in November next year as well.

I think my first job will be to finalise a list of things we need for the wedding and the cost of it all.
We have a meeting with a cake lady on 7th and a photographer on 15th. I may organise some more meetings with other photographers too. Keep our options open etc.

I think most of us have that problem Stacey hehe

We haven't decided 100% on cake style yet, but going to have some discussions with the woman in January and toss around some ideas. We get to try 9 different flavours of cake too. Amazing!

    I saw my dress yesterday!

I finally saw myself as a bride, even with my messy hair. Tried the dress on with a veil and burst into tears, it looked so perfect.

The dress is a little big which is good as it means the gym has been working, yay!

Hope everyone is well I've been keeping up to date with the thread but haven't posted in a while as I haven't been doing much wedding stuff lately. I have some time off over Christmas - New Year so think I am going to start putting together the invitations whilst my OH will be working.

Amy - your save the dates look so cute, I love the personal touch. I issued my save the dates a few months back and I wished I thought to wait and save them with Christmas cards such a great idea but I think I was just too excited to get them out. Plus most of our day list is family so not likely to change

Oh dear I've been tempted by the sales.

Even though I got shoes in my bargain dress deal I have seen some really cute ones in the sale. £110 down to £35 could resist!
My friend was just saying her wedding shoes were really expensive and then they went down in the sale but it was too late for her.

Hope they are comfortable will load a picture when they come.

    Hi,
We're getting married sept 2018 :) so far we have provisionally booked our venue for the ceremony just waiting on the booking forms to come in the post and to pay the deposit once they've received the forms. We're now spending hours looking online for a venue for the reception and trying to decide what sort of reception we would like xx

Welcome Stacy. Hope your planning goes well and the forms come quickly for you.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Ho88ycr4ft have a sale on and it's half price on their mache shapes, so I have got my post box ready to decorate. Much more worth getting for £6 instead of £12!

Hope everyone has a lovely evening, what ever that might be. Me and the OH are just staying in and watching movies, playing board games and eating! We have Christmas 2.0 with my family tomorrow as we were at his folks for 25th. So can't go too crazy with the drink as I am driving in the morning

Hi All, Wishing everyone a happy new year and hope you all had a lovely Christmas with your family and friends!!

Welcome and congratulations Stacy, if you need any advice we are all here to help one another, had to stop myself putting an e in your name lol its how mine is spelt.

So excited to say the wedding is next year as we are now in 2017, built myself up to say it at midnight on new years eve but OH beat me to it, he said my face was a picture :)

Managed to buy a canvas for me to mount the table plan on in the sales should have been 12 reduced to 4 just the right size as well.

Back to work today and OH asked how long it would be before I was in full wedding mode again haha, only got the cake and the suits to book main focus is saving.

AmyP We have booked our videographer OH wasn't convinced at first but I explained that its seeing the day from another point of view and they will capture things you wont see.

I thought the same do I really need to go to anymore wedding fairs.

I have brought my bridesmaid dresses in the sale for a bargain. I have tried one on and I personally love it, just need my girls to try them now.

I have found a local guy whose videos I really like and the price is reasonable. My view is that I am saving in so many areas I.e my dress that we can afford to spend on videographers etc.

I have one still to give out but it is for the SIL and we very rarely see her at the moment as she lives in a home. I might go for a nosey around just to see if I can get anymore ideas for the day.

Me and OH need to sit down and do a list so we can work out who does what in terms of the DIY. Gradually starting to see more and more build up in the spare room.

AmyP if you have made savings and can afford to spend more on videographer go for it.

I've decided I'm going to do a bag each for MOH, bridesmaids, mum and MIL for the morning of the wedding, each one will have a champagne glass, a mini perfume set, jewellery/accessories and a nice poem for both of the mums.

Going to see closer to the time if the hotel will bring up some criossants and fruit about 11am we don't get married till 1:30pm so don't want anyone to starve.

don't think I am going to bother with an order of service.. do you really need one? we stand there, chat a bit, registra says a bit. play music a bit, someone reads a bit. you sign some papers a bit and done.... am I over simplifying this? haha I am very open to any ideas and help so if you reckon they are worth It I can easily add one.

I haven't decided on thank you gifts yet, BM's will be given jewellery for the day I think and bestman some cufflinks etc for the day. my family is too big to thank them for helping due to divorces etc so I think its safer to avoid in some respects but not really sure
