I couldn't really take advantage of any deals as I pretty much had everything sorted already. The main things that are going to really stress me out I think are: Bmaid dresses, because finding the colour I need is near enough impossible and suits because my grooms party and family are so spread out getting them all into a central style is going to be such a pain, I was thinking M044 bro$$ because they have stores all over but I haven't heard the best reviews about them so I am now a little unsure.

Finally got myself into xmas gear this week, did a load of ordering last night and started to find bits and bobs for people. :)

I found a present today for OH best friend which was good now makes 4 presents we have all together (really need to pull my finger out).

Made my own little countdown thing (don't really know what to call it) used two plastic wallets, a some paper. Printed out loads of little wedding icons cut them out and popped them in one plastic wallet and folded the top over, then painted on it "days till our wedding" then put a picture on the other one saying "keep calm the wedding is coming" then each day i take a little icon out and pop it in the other one. Couldn't help myself I like visuals lol.

That is so cute Stacey! I have a countdown on my phone that I look at every so often. It's counting down to the date and the time that the wedding is booked for we are currently at 494 days, 21 hours, 11 minutes and 42 seconds hehe

I have a countdown on my phone too! The OH thinks I am insane but when I put it on we had 600 odd days and now its just 535 so we have lost about 100 days!

what have you guys planned and priotitised for next year? Or have you put most of it on the backburner until xmas is over?

Iv also got a countdown on my phone it's nice to see the days dropping lol.

Jan/early Feb I would want my invitations finished so they can be ready to send. I will be getting my dress sorted round about April/May time and the rest of the year will be spent getting bits such as the bridesmaids dresses and arranging hair and makeup. Doing hair and make up trials, attending a food taster session at my venue and paying of suppliers!! So still alot to do!! Its always nice to have a rough plan in mind xx

I haven't got anything set in stone for planning next year as yet. Just the meeting with a cake person and a photographer in January at the moment. But we hope to get moving in the early part of 2017, so I'm glad I've managed to do quite a bit whilst I've been off sick, frees up some time next year. Then once we're settled in a house, we can get the rest of the wedding stuff done.

Luckily, the venue sorts out the booze and food, so that's one less thing to source. I will need to sort out the invites, but not planning on sending them until Christmas 2017, so I have a while to finalise those, and practice my pocket folds.

Considering, I'm usually one for lists, I haven't actually made a wedding one. I probably should do that...

We are having a bit of a wind down over xmas so we can have a small break have most of the things we need booked, so it will just be the DIY bits, suits and paying next year.

I don't really feel I have much to plan now for a while, maybe I am oblivious to it all.

I am hoping it will all just come together. I think getting the dress has made me feel sorted as it was on my mind.

Still waiting on my save the dates to come should be next week.

I am looking at going for off-White bridesmaid dresses but I am not sure how my bridesmaids would feel about that. It also gives a small sign about my dress which I don't want anyone to know about eek what do I do?

In what way would it give a small sign about your dress? If it's because your dress is coloured or something. I'm sure there are scenarios where the bride and bridesmaids are all in ivory or off white. They probably won't even question it unless you say something. Just tell them that's what the colour scheme is and that's it, pull rank as bride! hehe
    ivory.jpg
    ivory.jpg

Found this and lots of others just by doing an image search, so it's not impossible to have bridesmaids in ivory. I'm sure you'd be fine!

i love the idea of off white bmaid dresses! I think it will look lovely and I don't think it would give much away about the dress! plus.. if they are good they won't mention anything to anyone about what they think your dress will be anyway xx

So in other news! it happened I had my first wedding based weird dream!! Getting set up and I had forgotten loads of stuff. people started arriving before we were set up and then panic set in,, and then we found out we had all arrived a year early..

Very good point Emma. I think they will probably just not put it all together.

The difficulty will to find white dresses that are flattering on all body shapes as can be a difficult colour, bar wedding dresses of course.

No dreams for me as yet, mine are all work related or just recently a Christmas one trying to get a certain toy.

Yesterday I got word that my mum has given my dad a telling off in regards to the wedding. He decided to "invite" one of my cousins by posting on their Facebook. Now it's not an issue as I was going to invite her anyway. I just hadn't mentioned it to her yet as was going to surprise her with a save the date. As she's in Canada, I don't think she was expecting an invite ando left quite an excited response to my dad's post.

Mum went off on one at him apparently, telling him that it's not his wedding etc. Love her, and couldn't help laugh at the thoughtime of my dad getting a telling off.

I have jokingly told him to not invite anyone else and leave it to me to do, he should just focus on his speech.

Oh bless your Dad getting so excited Em. Gradually noticing a build up of wedding stuff in the spare room anyone else got this haha.

I've had one wedding dream so far, I had the right dress on but it was in the wrong venue and torrential rain which mean there was a leak, I wasn't ready at all and pretty much got dragged down the aisle by my Dad.... so strange.

I read in a group on the book of face the other day that one woman was receiving her RSVP's back and people were adding extra names to them, how cheeky I wouldn't be very happy if it was me personally.

took my sister to look at dresses at the weekend and found some lovely ones but they are £225 a pop! I just don't understand how they can validate that.
I am hoping that where I am getting my dress from will have some at more reasonable prices as it isn't near Oxford. I find that everything here is about 10-15% more expensive just because it can be :(

I'm thinking of joining the local leisure centre in the New Year, maybe swimming and some classes rather than the gym, as never got on with it very well. I need to get my fitness levels up somehow!

Wiz that definitely shows you made the right choice, make sure she gets really good make up for the day, sounds like she'll be a blubber for that too!

I keep buying loads of little bits from the bay of e. Just brought some little plush teddies for the younger children and the table number holders. Been trying to work out how much paper, card and ribbon I'm going to need for all the stationary, haven't quite managed it yet but might wait till the new year to purchase them all and get everything in one go.

So for the children who will be age 2-16 I've got them all a box (looks like a lunchbox type thing) and it in they will have an activity pack, l#g0 bag for those 4+ and plush toy for under 4, going to pop in a little bag of sweets or chocolate buttons and will be making a small hot chocolate cone for each of them to enjoy after. I have one boy and girl who will be 15/16 so I haven't brought them any l3g0 but have purchased a little fun bag suitable for their age...sounds good right?

I haven't made or purchased anything in days, its a bit weird how I am suddenly on a go slow, think I have started sorting xmas out which is fun.

I am really looking forward to a fresh start with it all next year and looking back at what we have planned already. and going to get the dress!!!

There's an option at mine to just have an swimming only membership, I may go for that one. I'll look into it properly in the new year I think as STILL healing up from my operations back in October [insert big sigh here]

So, I may have an issue that one of my friends has assumed she's getting a save the date, and therefore coming to the wedding ceremony part. She is on the evening guest list, but not the ceremony part, mainly for numbers and also me and the OH were only bumped up to day guests at her wedding when she had people rsvp no. The room we have set our hearts on having the ceremony in can only hold 50 people, and we are already over capacity with the list we have but assuming some won't make it due to being overseas or quite elderly so may not be up to the journey etc. I don't know what to say to her, or if I should say anything. I've said to her that I am sending STD in Christmas cards but not said anything specific that she'd get an STD in her Christmas card, as I'm only giving them to day guests. I have got some spare cards, so I could make her a Save the Evening card, so she's not completely disappointed when she opens the card I suppose. I'm really not sure what to do for the best, and she's coming over on Saturday!!

Oh that's a tough one Em, if it were me I would probably make the evening version of the save the date and explain that you are restricted due to numbers but should people not be able to make it then she will be invited in the day too. It seems only fair if she bumped you from the evening to the day last minute too.

They have been fine with me, a lot have them have said as long as it is paid by the deadline and they will send a confirmation when the full payment is received.

I shouldn't think they would mind if they are happy to take deposits this early there is no reason why they shouldn't mind the full payment.

I keep wanting to have the wedding for 2017 but I'm glad it isn't. I don't really get how people can plan them 6 months it must feel awfully rushed.

I don't think you can be too ahead, it helps that some suppliers offer this years prices if you pay a deposit I've had a few do that. We will be saving for a house after the wedding.

We had originally planned to have a long engagement for about 5 years then get married but with a 12K price tag for two years time I would hate to know how much it would be in 5 years time.

I want to try and pay off as much as I can before the deadlines just so it is done and out the way. I will be speaking to each of the suppliers 6 months before and 1 month before to confirm all the details.

If anything goes wrong closer to the time I would prefer my attention to be on that than having to worry about everything at once.

We were the same Stacey got engaged earlier this year and at first I thought it would be 2020 at the earliest but then I started looking at venues and prices whilst trying to convince my OH that even if we aren't planning on getting married just yet we could still book the venue to give us more to pay it off and then we went and booked it for 2018 which surprised all our family.

I've paid the deposits on everything just need to sort my dress & shoes, bridesmaid dress and honeymoon. Feels so great to have everything sorted as I get stressed quite easily. I can't believe how much of a money making business it is either seeing the prices of some venues I don't know how people will be able to afford it in 5 years time
