    Thanks :)

I have only sent out save the dates to the people in the day and we have a "backup" list of people who are in the evening but should we get people dropping out will bump up for the whole day.

HAHAH a lot of our friends are forces and military so need a good amount of notice, also tonnes of my friends are from back home and will need to arrange childcare and transport as they don't drive so I want to make sure everyone has plenty of time to sort themselves out, we were asked to fill in a space at a wedding last year and I don't think its rude, its just one of those things. If someone is offended I didn't originally have them on the day list then they can shove off and someone else can come hahahah!

See am getting cold in my wedding planning ways :p

I think with the BM dresses I may just have to be flexible haha! that or I go to the above store now and hope they still fit in 18 months!

I'm waiting for w3d26 to release their new collection. They have been reducing the stock of the current range for months. I think it was be January before they are released.

I'm going to start on the wording of the invitations tonight.

I emailed about six weeks ago and was told they would update their social media pages when ready. Glad we aren't getting married next year, I think I would be having a nervous breakdown by now!

I have seen dresses on other sites so I know I won't have a huge problem finding BM dresses, just wanted the girly shopping day. Lol

I hope you find something suitable soon Wiz, maybe there will be more to choose from in January when the new season of stuff comes out. I'm lucky, in a way, that I only have one bridesmaid so only need one dress. Although with my brother being a bridesman I need to figure out what he's going to wear!

When I get home I have so much to catch up on! When I joined in April this thread was really quiet, I love logging on to see how everyone is getting on with their plans. I am looking forward to seeing our ideas evolve over the next two years. I can not believe it's November already, next year is going to fly by.

Just emailed the OH the first draft of the wedding invitations. Eek!!!

The girls I share an office with want to arrange a work hen night out for me. I really didn't expect that at all, feeling quite touched by it. Had a few discussions on dates today, looking at February 2018, which is 5 weeks before the wedding. Very excited!

My MOH is organising a hen night for November which will include my mum, MIL, SIL, friends, Aunts.

I am quite overwhelmed that people actually want to go on my Hen Night!

My OH and I are having a joint hen do, rather than individual as a lot of our friends are joint. We are then also doing a "stag do" where we will be going out with dads, brothers, and male friends.

We're struggling with one of the Bm's at the mo, where we are in the position where we can't really afford to have her as a BM, with paying for the dresses, flowers, gifts etc, we'd still really like her involved in the wedding in some way (our mums are doing a reading, and we already have people as out witnesses), any of you ladies have any ideas on how we can involve her?

I have just ordered a BM dress for my lovely BM. It was on offer, £39 instead of £130. She hasn't seen what it looks like yet, but I thought it was too much of a bargain not to get it, especially as it was in pastel green! Not the end of the world if she doesn't like it, I'll just send it back. I'll add a photo to my albums.

Hi Amanda, it's never too early. I think it's better to get as much as possible done when you can. Otherwise time has a horrible way of catching up with you.

Hello Legobride and Amanda G, welcome to the 2018 group. Amanda it really is never too early as you never know what bargains you can find.

Emz what a great deal on the bridesmaids dress. It looks so lovely I'm sure she will like it :)

Joanne your back! How are you and hows the planning going?

Got one more ticked off the list booked our DJ, I also brought some of the photo booth props but we are having them on the table and might have a competition for the kids for the silliest selfie, sat and stick them all together so the glue can dry.

I was sitting over the weekend making some bows for my favour boxes made 50 in total and will have to make loads more for all the stationary.

Morning all. Our wedding planning has been temporarily put on hold so we can get through mass and my daughters birthday in February. We got my daughter her bridesmaid dress. H2b finally got round to asking his nephew to be best man and his other nephew to be an usher with our boys. The first thing we are going for after xmas will be the mens kilts as there is only 1 shop in Glasgow that does the tartan we want. xxx

    HEELLOOOOO Brides!

So lovely to see everyone so busy planning, I have had another massive breakthrough with little things this week, we take part in medieval re-enactments in the summer so this is being shown in little parts of our wedding, out letter box is a traditionally made medieval box which is in albums, our cake knife is a medieval dagger which I purchased at the weekend (just need to find a cake slice to go with it) will add pics in a bit, and our wedding guestbook is going to be a hand made traditional book like you see in oldie days haha so will be completely hand made and traditionally bound and covered with royal blue sued which is super exciting. its on order so when it comes in I will post a piccy.

Could whoever is making the baby bunting post a picture? I am debating doing some with the ribbon matching my favours etc just to tie things together :)

lots of lovely ideas on here x

We have our violinists booked for the ceremony and have chosen our music pieces for me walking down the aisle, signing of the registrar and our exit it's all so exciting. Our venue has some new menus so we are now browsing them and will have to book a food taster session with them next year, also I have been looking at wedding dresses which I can hopefully purchase in the new year :) there's still alot to think about but we are getting there! I'm so looking forward to the new year just so I can say I'm getting married next year haha xx

Oh my god, I had my wedding dress moment.

Totally unexpected. Went to what I thought was a sample sale in a hotel but ended up being this amazing guy who had brought a whole bridal shop in liquidation. He left me and my friend to try on dresses, we were like 2 kids in a candy store.
My dress was the first one I tried on and fell in love when I put it back on and saw myself in the veil, tiara and shoes.

It was just my luck one of the most expensive dresses in there costing £2000 however he was selling all at half price, still over £1000 and then all the bits to think about. He then said I looked beautiful and I could have everything for £500 I was in shock. We all cried!
It's a brand new dress, never been tried on by anyone. It fits perfectly and need no alterations!

I feel like the luckiest girl around and a moment I will never forget.

I had my first wedding related nightmare the other night, I ended up having to do my own hair and make up and because it was my wedding I decided to be experimental and ended up looking like a drag queen. Then because I'd spent so long on my make up, I put my hair in a ponytail! Woke up in a cold sweat!

I am actually not sure what I have to think about now.

I can live through all your dress choices now.

What's everyone view on telling people about their dresses. I had one friend with me but she wasn't a bridesmaid as was a random moment that just happened. I've showed my mum who loves it and I plan on showing my 90 year old nan and my sister, but I don't want to tell anyone else anything about it. Is that bad of me to not want my bridesmaids to see it??

From one Emma to another, welcome! It's great he's so involved! My OH is very laid back and I'm assuming trusting as he let's me get on with it most of the time. If I do ask for an opinion on something he usually agrees with the choices I've made.
We are starting to make appointments to meet up with people now. We are having second thoughts about a lego cake. Going to talk it through when we have our cake meeting and see what ideas we come up with.

I have shown my bridesmaid the kind of dress I'm going for and I imagine she'll be there when I finally choose one. I trust her opinion. She's not a yes woman so will give it to me straight on whether things look right or not. Other than her, my mum and possibly my brother (as he's bridesman) then I won't be showing anyone else what the dress is when I finally get one.

    Hey hey!

Dress wise, I am quite open and happy to show a few people at first, mainly because they are people that wont be at the wedding and don't know my OH and secondly because showing people now they will forget within 2 weeks of seeing it anyway hah! But from now on I am keeping it a secret just my MOH and bridesmaids as they are my sisters will see it.

Lynsey thank you! I will pop over now

My sweetie bags where dispatched today so I will take some pics when they arrive, it was super quick considering they are personalised too!
I still love my shoes but I need to break them in so might start wearing them around the house soon so my feet are used to them, had them on for about 10 mins at a dress trying on the other month and had to bed my MOH to take them off my feet lol, it was our first time with her head up my wedding dress LOL!
EMMA! I am so jealous that your OH is interested and being actively helpful! this weekend is the most help I have had from my OH he helped me buy a knife for the cake and choose a hand made guestbook which is exciting.
I am hoping after next year he is a bit more co operative lol
Duo - I think cake doubts are common, I was 100% set on a hundreds and thousands style sprinkle cake for months,, then the more I look the more I think I might want traditional.. we shall soon see :P

    Hi Ladies,

One day out and I feel like I have missed so much so here it goes:

Amy - What an amazing bargain on your dress and accessories so happy for you and show the dress to who you want to its your choice.

Welcome to the new Emma of the group a huge congratulations to you and your partner and how fab that he is so involved!

To the other Emma, I had my first nightmare the other week and it was so weird, it wasn't in the church or venue we had booked a random marquee in the middle of a field where it was raining so bad the marquee was leaking. I was rushed through getting ready and pretty much dragged down the aisle by my dad to realise I still had a black t-shirt on over my dress...... Woke up so shocked :(

Lynsey nooooo not the Cinderella shoes they we so pretty, if I could find a pair I would have in your face cinderella shoes over any other shoes and wouldn't give a damn about what anyone thinks they probably made that comment cause they were jealous chin up hun :)

Me and OH have had to tweak our favours, brought some small bottles at a bargain and now can't find anymore but realise I have enough for the top table so everyone else can just have a different bottles :)

Feeling a bit better today. There is just so much pressure on the perfect wedding.

Shoes are packed up but I don't know what to do. Will sleep on it tonight.

Thank you for the compliments on my mini bunting. Word of warning to anyone considering making some the cutting will drive you crazy! For each bunting wreath the cutting takes about an hour, although the first one took nearer 3 while I figured out the best way.

Managed to find a few more vintage hardback books.

Oh Lynsey! I hate it when people turn their noses up at something you really like. My MIL was the same when OH told her we are planning on having pie for our wedding breakfast (OH absolutely LOVES pie, and it was one of the first meals I ever cooked for her).
    Welcome EmmaH!

Stacey- wedding nightmares are the worst.
Duo- it's good you've not got a "yes woman", I had to make my MOH promise that she'll be honest, she's someone who tries to see something positive in everything, and she swore she would tell me if the dresses I try on are hideous lol.
Amy- I think it's totally up to you who you want to see the dress beforehand. I'm going dress shopping with my mum and MOH and they are the only 2 I will be showing, but it's personal preference. I did at one point consider taking OH dress shopping, as she and I were best friends for 5 years before we got together, but I want her to have that surprise on the day
