Don't know what happend then thought I'd posted this but now can't see it so If I've posted twice sorry....
I'm going to send the std's out xmas 2016 then the day invites will go out 1st June 2017 RSVP 17th August, Evening invites (and any bumped up day invites) will go out 1st september RSVP 17th Oct then if I have any places left I will send out a final lot of evening invites (to those who we'd like to come but as it stands don't have room for) 1st November RSVP 1st Dec. Hopefully this will work and give me a couple of weeks to chase up any non responders before "giving away" there place to the next person so to speak and still mean I will have my confirmed numbers a month before the wedding (fingers crossed)

I heard a good tip... write a number on each of the RSVPs that relates to each invite then you can keep track easier.

Not sure where I heard that but sounds a good idea :)

I like the numbering RSVPs idea. Very clever.

I do like the idea of making the stationary myself. Might have a little looksy on Pinterest for ideas. Any other suggestions for templates or 'how to' guides?

I can let people RSVP on the wedding site I'm going to set up but I don't know if that will make it more complicated? Thought it would be easier for my guests tho as then they don't have to remember to post the RSVP.
Lady C what type of invite are you thinking about doing? That's your starting point as there is so many different styles to chose from. I'm using pocket folds but they are fiddly, you could go for a more simple Card style or you could make a booklet or just have a flat invite. g00gle and p1ntrest are great for inspiration. Have you got a theme in mind?

It depends what your after Mrs C, we wanted to give directions from church to hotel and things like that so wanted a pocket fold.
If you just want to go for, its here at that time, then it can be more simple design rather than the flaps and pockets etc

Mrs D, I love the idea of getting the RSVPs through the post so wont be offering this. it depends. it would be easier for them but more complicated for you. can you Rsvp for people on there? if you can then you could log on when you receive a postal one to keep it all in one place

I'm not very good with paperwork I spend half my life hunting for bits of paper to sort out things that should have been done months ago so keeping it all online will be useful although less traditional, I'm not sure if the other guests will be able to see who's been invited and declined tho that could be embarrassing especially if loads of people don't want to come lol

Were going to have one with our photographer £100 at any location so can have it in the park we used to go to.

most of the photographers down here do packages which include an engagement shoot which might be worth a look, I'm also playing with the idea of doing it myself as I know exactly the photo I want for the STD's but then I'm never 100% happy with any photo of myself even less so of non-professional ones

then need to show my sister. She has promised us £500 towards the wedding and was going to give us cash.. I like the idea of her buying part of the wedding so we can look back and say MOH got us the cars. :)

Your very organised, it's a great feeling to book the venue tho you know it's real then. That's really generous of your sister and it's a great idea to put it towards something. I love cars, unfortunately I won't have one as I will be staying at the venue the night before, in the process of tracking down a Ferrari F50 for h2b to arrive in tho, it's going to be one of my surprise gifts for him, although I'm struggling not to say anything haha I often mess about telling him he has to buy me an R8, the other day he told me I can have an R8 when he gets his Ferrari, almost split the beans then lol.
Have you looked for FB wedding sales pages yet? There always good for things like your champagne flutes

I did Mrs D and most of it was second hand things and because I want them personalised it wouldn't work. this lady can do 2 for £15 with £4 postage which isn't bad I don't think.

I need transport to the church and then to the hotel so is needed for me.

Lady C, they are one size fits all boleros so no need to worry about dress size. Neither of them have changed size since growing into their adult size so I'm not particularly worried about it anyway.

That's will be lovely for him! I did think of getting us an Aston but would mean OH has to drive us away from the church which neither of us want. I asked him in the end and he didn't like the idea of him driving. loved the idea of the car but that bit out him off. If we have any spare cash I might treat him to it to get him to the church

Lady C we're big on cars so it's an important part for us, my bro and his mates are all into drifting and rally driving so the plan is h2b in a Ferrari will lead a convoy of beemers and rally cars in, a bit fast and furious style, he'll love it and the photos will be wicked!!
If you have the money that would be nice, as you could arrive in the Rolls and have it take you both from the church to the venue and he can turn up in style too!!

Most things we have bought so far are under budget. only thing that isn't is the stationary punches but that £1 so no biggie at all

Its great to keep track of payments too. I have mine set up with next payment due when how much paid so far etc

Biggest advice for the Budget Lady C leave yourself some wiggle room, I have given myself £600 "misc" which I have already had to reallocate some of, as although I took the invites into account I didn't consider STD's or "order of the days" or thank you cards whoops.
Emily I'm not paying out things regularly atm (dad is paying for the venue so he's doing monthly payments for that) got a "to do" list on the go tho where I have a final date things have to be booked and paid by

Most of the big things i.e photographers D.J's etc are pretty upfront about their prices and will advertise them on websites so you can get an idea of how much that would be, the rest of it I've guestimated depending on how important it is to me, e.g I have budgeted £600 (5% of the budget) for flowers and decs, this will mainly go on bouquets and button holes as I'm not keen on flowers everywhere and I plan on D.I.Y'ing most of the decs. To be honest the internet is a god send as you can use it as a bargaining tool, don't like a price you've been quoted there is plenty more at your fingertips and at least one should work

Sounds good, all your enthusiasm is rubbing off on me I've done more weddingy stuff today than I have in the past 3 months.
Don't know what to do about a photographer to be honest, did as a friend who is a professional who took the photo's for my daughters christening to do it when we first got engaged but now thinking I would rather he was just there as a guest so he and his family can enjoy the day (plus I would still need another photographer to work with him through the day). I've been having my daughters photos professionally done since she was born by another company too and I love them and the work they do but their wedding package is waaaaay more than I have budgeted for think I will cross that bridge a bit closer to the time tho

My friend did it for my first wedding and I felt really guilty that she couldn't fully enjoy the day. She also wasn't in any of the photos! I think she was slightly distracted too because she was friends with so many people there and the photos weren't as great as they would've been if I had hired an independent photographer. What is your photography budget? I've set mine at £800.

I love planning! Am having so much fun already.

To me, the photographer is so important. You only get married once (hopefully!).

I've been looking at v15tapr1nt for invites. £4 for 10 invites!

This is actually my 2nd marriage Mrs T Hurley 2B. Having said that, this time I am doing it properly and to the right man! It feels like I am doing it all for the first time anyway as my first wedding was so cheap and nothing was done properly.

I didn't think of V1stapr1nt. Will have a little looksy.
