I just wondered how many of you are Oct 2012 brides and how far along you are with your planning/booking? People keep telling me im way ahead of where I need to be but I feel like there is so much to do and with being a full time student and mum of three I think I will need a long time to plan!
We have booked our venue, sorted suits and photographers and am in the process of finding a florist and deciding on centrepieces. We have chosen the car company and the favours we want but just need to pay the deposits and have chiosen a butterfly theme for the reception tables but haven't started getting anything as yet! xxx

hi, well you sound like your getting well sorted out with things.everyone plans things at a different pace and you have the main priorty things in place.i have my venue,photographer and honeymoon sorted out so far.still abit to do lol, :-) xx

i know wot u mean,i was worried i`d book/buy things then find sumthing better but thats how sum things go.if u put off things in the hope of getting sumthing better its a risk you take.just be sure your happy and is in your budget what you get.remember its about you and your h2b day.your kids will love it im sure. where you hoping to get wed.enjoy your dress shopping...try on all and everything.lol.xx

Hiya, i'm getting married on 19th October 2012 and like you I am a mum of three and a full time student. We've booked our venue and i've put a deposit down on a wedding dress. We've also booked a party photo booth for the evening do and almost got the photographer sorted. Its only 14 months now so don't think you can plan or book too early, still so much to do and with studying a full time degree it doesn't leave a great deal of time

Hi im getting married 13th October 2012, Ive booked reception, church, cake upto now, Im glad Im making plans now than nxt summer I can chill and relax hopefully in the sun, Ive put deposits down on everything, going to book my flowers nxt month when I get paid again and book wedding cars, going to look at dresses January hopefully lost some weight by than :)

Oh good its not just me planning ahead then! I am glad though because there really is so much to do (and pay for!!!) and im really enjoying the browsing and getting excited!!! Went dress shopping last week for the first time and LOVED it!!! I was going to wait till after Xmas but my Mum convinced me to go and im so glad she did! xxx

hi all im hannah and im an oct 2012 bride tod yay glad we have our own thread now i will bookmark it! we have so far put a deposit on venue but they said to contact them this october to do any real planning but we have a venue saturday 27th october i cant wait. i have my dress already its in my album i also have 3 of 4 BM dresses and my FG dress.i have there tiaras and mine. invites waiting to be made by my MOH. favor bags are waiting to be filled. cake picked and ideas on ways to the maker. htb also chosen lol cant think what else i have sorted ohh im collecting table scatter crystals got around 7000 so far im glad im not the only one being organised. xx

Hello I am getting married on the 7th Oct 2012 (Sunday bride).
Up to now I have the venue for ceremoney and reception booked, Registra, Photographer, Harpest and master of ceremonies.
I have decided to make my own invites and centre peices which I have not done yet. I have done a mock one but nothing else yet.
I too am a Student and a full time mummy to 2 children ages 3 and 5.... I am a nursing student in my 2nd year...

I quite fancied doing my own centrepieces but im not the most 'crafty' of people and have managed to find some candelabras that i love!!!!
I think when you've so much on your plate on a day to day basis anyway you have to plan well in advance dont you!!! Once I get back to Uni in Sept the wedding will have to come after my studies until June next year and by then we'll only have 4 months to go!!!! Jeeeees that sounds really really scary!!!! But exciting too!!! xxx

Im the same. I have put wedding planning on hold for now till March then I will have less then 6months to plan and make everything. Even though I would have finished Uni I will need to use the time to get my Personal Development Plan sorted and get any outstanding uni work completed and In that 6 months I will need to do 10 weeks placement .... I hope I can get this wedding planned in time....
My centre pieces are not fabulous but they will do I think there is a pic in my profile somewhere... I dont have a crafty bone in my body really but need to cut the price as much as possible but without cutting too much quality...
My birthday in the 5th Oct my daughters is the 9th and my nephews is the 10th. Me and H2B met on the 7th Oct so thats why we chose that date...

Im really struggling with this... My dress is ivory and I love the mango/burnt orange calla lillys but I dont want orange bridesmaids so I was thinking of having wine or chocolate..... Then I got stuck with the bows on my chairs ... If I had wine bridesmaids would it be too much to have wine bows too so then I thought have gold because thats a nice colour too....
My invites and ivory, gold and have orange lillys on.... so I guess my colour theme is looking like ivory, gold, orange and wine.... I think that might be toooo mny colours tho ....

That bouquet is lovely! how about having chocolate bridesmaids with a small amount of burnt orange detail?? then have burnt orange chair sashes anf flowers but break the flowers up by adding a few ivory flowers too??? Then if u wanted a splash of gold you could have gold ribbon to bind your bouquets and gold table crystals maybe?? xxx

I thought about having chocolate bridesmaids but I didnt want the groom to have chocolate too and they have to match. I really like the wine waist coat for the men.... Im only having 1 bridesmaid and a flower girl and their complection is dark so they both suit dark colours .... I like the idea or orange sashes!
Im completely useless at colour arranging. I ask my bridesmaid to help but she hasn't come up with anything yet. Everyone keeps saying its too early to start thinking about and they say wait till there is 1 year to go but they dont understand I dont have as much time as anyone else (like yourself) to plan and organise a wedding...

And you do really need to know your colours like you say for everything to match! We've sorted the suits already and the men will have a wine coloured cravat then an ivory waistcoast with wine pattern on, black suit, wine hanky and a wine cala lilly button hole! My bridesmaids will be wine with ivory flowers with some greenery and my flowergirls dresses will be wine at the top and ivory skirt!
If I were you id go look at some bridesmaid dresses, look at the colours in front of you and see what you could mix and match! Drag your bridesmaid along! :) xxx

Yeah we are planning on a shopping trip soon but she is so busy at work, she works for her dad and some weeks she works 7 days so its just a case of getting some time off....
My orginal thought was wine, then I decided on Cadbury purple and then I changed it again to chocolate lol... I am thinking of wine or chocolate depending on what looks the best on the bridesmaid.

I love purple!!! I let my H2B choose which suits and waistcoasts he wanted and then im matching everything to that!
I know what you mean about finding the time for a shopping trip! I really struggle to find a day when my H2B isn't working so I can leave the kids with him and when my mum and chief bridesmaid are both free! xxx

H2B really like the wine waist coat when he had a look in a shop. He didnt try it on or anything because he said it was too soon; He said he will try some on next time...
I need to do it when H2B can have the kids. My two are awful when it comes to shopping.... Josh has paddys and Leah cries because she cant have something.... I made the mistake of taking her shopping with me for my dress and she had a huge paddy because I didnt buy her a dress....

I've just seen this thread and I'm glad to see there are other brides planning away for an October 2012 wedding! People keep saying I'm so far ahead with my planning too but I think it's a good thing, we won't be as stressed in the months leading up to the big day! I'm getting married on 27th October 2012 and I'm so excited!! I've bought my dress and my 5 bridesmaid dresses which were all a steal on ebay! I've also booked the venue, sorted the photographer and made my Save the Date cards. I've started making the Order of Service and Wedding Invitations as well. I'm having to do a lot of things myself as we're getting married on a very tight budget so if you've got any good DIY ideas then please let me know!

yay yazzie same day as me everyones doing really well arent we all good lol only thing i fail on is saving and dieting which i did good at but then put half a stone back on of the 1 and half i lost :-( i ordered the gems to stick on my invites to cant wait to get started on them htb is more interested in planning the honeymoon we have changed our mind lots but looks like were going to cyprus now its all so exciting i just wish it was 14 MONTHS away xx

We have not really talked about our honeymoon yet. We decided on having a cruize but thats as far as it goes lol. We talked about it and it turns out we cant have a honeymoon straight away. I will be starting my 3rd and final year at uni and its H2B busy time of the year for boiler breakdowns....
I haven't bothered with save the date card as we are getting married out of season so I assumed we wont have much competion lol. I set up an event on facebook so everyone can see how my plans are going. It also tells them the date so they know to keep it free.....

our honeymoon is important we have 3 kids and were both 24 so a week away from them sounds like heaven lol we picked the 27 th as its our 4 year anniversary and also the kids will break up for halloween the day before so no one has to worry about getting the older two to school for us. i might do save the date magnets or just send my day invites out 6 months before so the important guests will be given lots of warning! x

Hi all. I'm new to this site and getting married on 13th October 2012! We've sorted our venue, which includes all food, MC and DJ. I've also got my dress and we've paid the deposit for the photographer and videographer. We've made our ceremony invites and save the date cards, but obviously not the evening ones yet. Apart from that, everything else had to be sorted and I'm actually thinking that the day is going to creep up on us suddenly!

Oct12bride86 we originally booked our venue for Sunday 7th October but then found out that the local church doesn't do Sunday weddings so had to move it! We are on a package so have to stick to 50 for the day and 100 for the night really.Not sure if that makes things easier or harder lol! x
