I am starting to get a bit fed up. Im having a really stressfull week and I just can't think about weddings. My poor nanna is in hospital with a very bad chest infection plus I got news on saturday which brought back loads of horrible memeories and by sunday I seemed to have a a break down and ended giving Mark my ring back and calling off the wedding. It was a horrible day that got too much for me, Mark understands and gave me back the ring when I calmed down.
Things seem a bit better after I exploded but because of all the stress my IBS is giving me problems and I feel run down and sick!
Sorry ladies bit of a winge im afraid!

Clarabella i am getting married at 1pm,i didn't want to be too early and be rushed but i also knew that i didn't want to be hanging around waiting for it to happen if you know what i mean.I also asked the wedding co ordinator at my venue for her suggestions on the best time. She advised that if we married at 1pm the ceremony would take until 1.40pm and by the time we had some piccies and driven back to the venue it would be 2.30pm.We would then have welcome drinks and mingle with our guests and more piccies and aim to be sitting down at around 3.45pm for the wedding breakfast. She advised that the wedding breakfast would take around 2 and a half hours bringing us to 6.15pm leaving us with 3/4 hr before our evening reception starts at 7pm. So really i couldn't have gone much later without being a bit rushed between things or having to start the evening reception later xxx

Hi ladies, Not been on for a while. Been hectic at work. But working in a school has its perks as I have 2 weeks of for the easter hols!!! wooohoooo!!! So that means I can get back into the swing of wedding planning. Think I'll write myself a little (or rather long!!) to do list starting with giving notice to the local registry!!! I never actually thought I could get this excited about my wedding. I never wanted to get married until I got with Paul. Just can't wait!!
Clarabella, we're getting married at 2pm, sitting down to dinner at about 4.30pm and the reception starts at 7.30pm.
OMG Kirsty! I cant believe you already have your RSVPs back! So organised! lol
Hope everyone is well

Id contact my wedding coordinator to see what she thinks about times but i can never get a hold of her which is rather annoying. My mum and sisters suggested getting married at 3pm as it was a rush to get everyone ready for my sisters wedding but then we had to go to the hairdressers to get our hair and makeup done but im having them come to me at the hotel?

I know what you mean about wedding co-ordinators, ive met mine twice and lets say im not particuarly impressed, the impression she gave me was like 'we have a lot of other weddings going on here you know' sort of thing and made me feel like me spending all this money was irrelivant. Needless to say if she is like it again when i see her next - which will be May- i will complain as i dont feel its on. If it wasnt for the hotel style and decor i wouldnt want to get married there purely because of her - bad isnt it!
Anywho, i did speak to someone else there and he said the best time for me to marry is between 1 & 2, then have meal after photos around 4/4:30 then the evening do starts at 7:30. We have decided to marry at 1:30 : D x

Im so sorry ladies that your having trouble with your co-ordinators. I have got a lovely wedding co-ordinator and when ever we meet its like nothing else matters. She keeps us upto date with every thing! We have had our moments, mostly reguarding the bridal suite! They gave my room away so I have to have one that isn't as nice!
We was going to get married at 3pm but I was worried about not having enough time for photos and I really didnt want them rushed!

Yeah timings are always difficult as its having the balance between not rushing everything and trying not to leave people in limbo for hours!
Im actually now a little annoyed about the hotel (has just triggered a memory!) im staying at the hotel the night before the wedding for £55 for a double room and the night of the wedding we have the honeymoon suite which is included in the package. Now, my mum is also staying in the hotel the night before as she doesnt want me to be left alone and shes also staying the night of the wedding. Now the hotel said they would reserve rooms at a rate of £45 for the night of the wedding for 5 rooms, but my mum managed to get both nights for £45 each....... does this sound a little off to you seeing as i am paying thousands to have my wedding there?!?! x

Well done on the weight loss. I'm getting fed up as I was being really good and eating 1200 calories a day, with some exercise and lost nothing!!!
Our wedding day - 6 October 2012
CommentAuthorMrs B
Glitter fairy, how many times are you exercising a week? You may find you actually need to eat more in order to loose weight. Professionals recommend that if you regularly exercise and are on a diet you shouldn't really go below 1500 calories a day as it has the reverse effect (which it seems you may be experiencing).
You may also wish to consider how many carbs you are eating and when. You need carbs to keep your energy levels up but limiting yourself to only eating them after exercise or say lunchtime is better for you and this will help your body to consume the nutrients from the food and store less as fat. X
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
I eat carbs at least once a day, potatoes or pasta, I try not to overload though. I usually exercise 3 times a week but recently that has not been happening. When I do exercise though I up my calorie intake. I have an app on my phone which I monitor all exercises and calories.

I know, just have to wait for them to come back now! I got 4 rsvps within a couple of days of sending them out but then nothing! I am finding it a little annoying as people keep saying 'of course we are coming ,you do't need a rsvp do you?' If i had just casually mentioned the wedding to people and said 'i'm not sending an invite but of course you're invited' people would not have felt very wanted and may have been uncertain about whether they were actually invited.Likewise if i have spent hours handmaking invites and am forking out £60 a head for peoples meals i don't think its too much to ask that they confirm either via my website or by sending an rsvp by post so that i am sure that they are coming! xxx
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
Yep it would be nice to actually have it on paper that they are coming. Wonder how long I will have to wait for rsvps

Today i have made an appointment for my flower consultation -I am going on Monday at 12pm xxx
CommentAuthorMrs B
It's exciting talking about flowers, fortunately one of my bridesmaids is a florist so I have been über organised and already sorted them..... Kinda!
I was also originally going to have fish bowl centre pieces but went shopping at the weekend and fell in love with these dangling birdcages which were really cheap - like 8 pound so I ended up buying them instead which means I now need to look for some flowers to go in them. I've decided to use led candles instead of real ones too so it's a lot safer! X
CommentAuthorPB
Sounds lovely,i know what you mean about the candles,my venue provide centrepieces and tealights are part of them and they do make me slightly nervous with veils and tulle wafting around lol. They have the led ones at a bar near me and they look really effective xxx
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
My friend started on our flowers yesterday as having silk ones. She has made a start on mine so far, hoping to get it done today and then start on the bridesmaids ones.
Our wedding day - 6 October 2012
CommentAuthorPB
It must be nice to get them done ahead of time so that you can check that you like them and that they go with yours and bridesmaid dresses etc.Thats one thing i worry about-i won't get to see the flowers until its too late to do anything about them ie. the morning of the wedding. What if me and the florist think we are on the same wavelength but actually we have different visions? x
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
That happened to a friend of mine last year. She had her sister doing the flowers, which she brought round the night before the wedding and they were awful apparently so on the morning of the wedding her friend who was giving her away and her bridesmaids were out buying bunches of roses from the supermarket and took them to a florist to make one up last minute.
Our wedding day - 6 October 2012
CommentAuthorPB
Oh how awful! Now i'm really worried lol! x
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
If you are having a florist doing them though and you have shown them what you want, I doubt you will be upset by them. It was only because she was cutting costs (like me) and getting her sister to do them.

I have got loads of pictures for her and when i have spoken to her before she seemed to know what i was trying to get across so hopefully she won't disappoint x

Think I have finally found the MOH and BM dresses. I love them both, so hopefully they shall be the ones we pick. One less worry then.

I'm getting married in October and thought i was doing well with my preparations but the more i look at what is left the more i think maybe i am a bit behind!
I have booked venue, dj, photographer, ordered my wedding dress, made and sent out day invites and in process of making evening invites, in the process of sorting bridesmaid dresses but nothing set in stone.
Do i really have that much more to sort???
CommentAuthorMrs B
It's difficult because when you start listing things to still sort it can look huge but when you think of the content etc a lot of mine are minor things to sort!
From your list a few things that pop into my mind for you would be; Suits, flowers, centrepieces, favours, placenames, entertainment, venue decorations, wedding cake, shoes, jewellery, transport, honeymoon, hair, make up, songs for ceremony and evening to name a few!
Hope this helps x
CommentAuthorMrs B
Is anyone struggling with jewellery? I'm really struggling to find a tiara or head band that I like that would go with my dress and then I need to find earrings and a necklace. This is the only dress I have ever struggled to find the right jewellery for! Any suggestions as to what would go with my dress would be very welcome! Pics on my wall? X
CommentAuthorMrs B
Well I'm so chuffed! Had a really good day shopping with my mum, found her fascinator and bag but most importantly I've found my tiara and matching jewellery! I'm so amazed as I was really struggling and now I have some beaut pieces of jewellery, massive weight off my shoulders xx
