I can't wait to get proper pics :-) ...I just really want to loose some weight before they take measurements .... so have started very stricr diet for the next 13 days... I have really good diet but very difficult one... but that dress is a massive motivation for me.

Aww marie my birthday is 2 days before the wedding. We are going to the hotel alone (without the children) on the 5th to meet the master of ceremonies but we are going to class it as a little brithday treat for me aswell.
2 more sleeps and we are going to have our menu tasting OOOOOh so exciting!

We are not having a honeymoon for a year.We are asking for money instead of gifts but its not lack of money thats stopping us its lack of time.H2b has set holidays -19 days off every 10 weeks (planning a wedding date was tricky because of this!)Plus h2bs 18 year old son is over for the wedding from Australia so obviouslly he doesn't want to go off and leave him. Plus we have our 7yr old daughter to consider and she would have to go and stay with granparents so it has to be her school holidays! But its so rare that h2b hols coincide with our daughters that when they do we like to take a holiday all together arrgghhh!We will have a weekend minimoon probably a fortnight after the wedding in the Lakes xxx

I have thought about waiting untill the summer clothes go into the sale then buy them! My MIL said she has loads of maxi dresses I can borrow.
We wasn't going to bother with a honeymoon but MIL insisted we should and offered to have the children, so we though 'why not' however it is an expense we could do without lol....
My MIL has been telling guests to give us money instead of gifts! We have everything we need so we are looking to save for a house now!

travel vouchers or money are great so you can do what and where you want. Poulton bride-tis a shame about your h2bs hols but a weekend away in the lakes sounds good and is better than nothing .you can look forward to a longer honeymoon at a later date and also plan for that.will be exciting more planning... We don't really have time for a honeymoon straight away either as when we get married it will be when I start my final year at Uni and we are on theory based stuff then. If it was placement I may have got away with taking a week out as am over hours, but like you said as well, may as well wait and then really enjoy one.
Been trying to shift a few lbs as well and it's not happening. Hoping that suddenly the weight will just go! For two weeks I have taken to work for lunch raw carrot, cucumber and pepper along with a few slices of ham and that is what I have, then a normal meal in the evening as starving by then, but it's not gone! I thought it was at the start of the weekend as seemed to be losing it and then for no reason it's gone back on! GRRRR!!

Yeah we want to buy a house. We cant do it until I qualify and get a job which wont be until 2014 so we will have to save all we can until then!
I really enjoyed going to Redworth hall last thursday. The wedding faye was lovely. We chose our gold bows and chosen our menu. well nearly we are hoping to get a choice on the menu because we couldnt choose between the pork or the chicken. but it is soup for starters and chocolate cheese cake for desert.
Met the hairdresser and she is charging £170 for me, 2 bM and a flower girl and she is coming to the venue to do it! The florrest are going to email me their quote as the flower I want she might not be able to get hold of that time of year, so we will see!

I got my quote for the flowers! £398 for 1 bride bouqet, 2 bridesmaids bouquet, 10 mens button holes 6 ladies, 2 page boys, top table arrangement and mirror hire!
Its under budget but I am going to push for a little discount!

I have silk flowers that I got from the Bay of E and a friend has offered to do them. I also have some silk grasses and some blingy bits as well for them along with the ribbons of our colour scheme.

I looked on ebay but didnt see anythings I liked. I looked at a few other sites but didnt see anything I liked. I am having roses and lizianthus.
They are lovely Oct bride.I am going to see my florist next month,just hope she can bring it in within budget! I wanted something like that Glitter there gorgeous but they were way out of my budget. My florrest wanted £80 for one like your bridesmaid!
Poulton you will get there took me roughtly 5 days to do 36 invites. I had my firsty 'OMG Im getting married ' moment when I was making mine. When you see your florrest remember less is more! I have 2 pedastalls provided by the hotel and they have paid half for the top table centre peice. I think that will be plenty.

Just realised the counter are showing at 6 months OMG! Our venue supplies our table decs (same florist that is doing my flowers so she can match perfectly!) So just have a bouquet for me and one for moh (flowergirl is throwing silk petals-already purchased)Six buttenholes for the chaps,3 mother corsages and a top table arrangement.I am really hoping that i can bring it in under £200 and if i can i would also like matching cake flowers and flowers for flowergirls hair.Not too fussed about what the flowers i have so long as they are hand tied casual/country/gathered kind of look in soft dusky pinks with a touch of cream and purple. xxx

I have silk flowers and they were really cheap. With the calla lilies and the silk grasses I doubt I even spent £20 on it all. A friend has offered to make them which is good.

Mind you with the blingy bits to go in as well, probs nearer £30, but yes still a bargain. There are parts where if I can get them cheap I will. My photographer is the best bargain. Free!!! She's a friend and I asked her ages ago to do it and when I asked how much she wants nothing. Cakes are being done via a friend as well and our invites are also done via a friend cheaper for what they are normally. Invites are going to be around £90 with reply slips. This is her sample she uses to show them
I've finally started on my invitations. My arm is still on a cast but have still managed to make 5 so far lol will put a pic up on here soon. Still haven't quite worked out what we need to write inside the invites but will get there eventually, received the roman candles the other day too for inside the birdcage lanterns, they are the led ones but are coated in wax, look very realistic

Thanks, yeah planning is going very well! So far weve booked the venue, bought my dress and bm dresses and mob outfit, booked photographer, put flower and centre piece order in (one of my bm is a florist), booked the honeymoon, sent out the day invites and have had back most of the RSVPS!, sorted out the registrar, have given notice, decided on the cake design (mum will be making) and have bought my own wishing well (from Argos - Bargain btw!) which just needs painting.
I think ive done pretty well all in all! I need to start getting to work on the evening invites as i have around 60-70 invites to do and it takes ages to make them! The one thing i am really struggling with is Aisle songs and first dance songs. OH and I cant agree on a song we both love and we are considering dance lessons so we dont do the awkward shuffle!
Anyone got any ideas on songs? xx

Im sure I joined this thread ages ago when it first started up, but I havent been on here for ages! We're getting married on 13th October and I simply cannot wait!
We've sent out save the date cards and have made our invites too. Our venue provides food, dj, master of ceremonies, so we didnt have to worry about organising those. We've sorted flowers, venue decorations, photographer, cars, my dress, favours, cake. We had our rings on order but the man has gone awol (a very long story). I'm gutted about it as he was supposed to making totally bespoke rings for us so we now need to find someone who will do the same for a similar price :( Paul has a date in April to take 'his men' to get fitted for their suits and I'm taking 'my maids' out at end of April for a girly day to look at dresses. Exciting!!!

Sounds like youre in a pretty similar situation to me (apart from the rings)
We've got ours from a local supplier but it does state on their website that they want to be a uk leader so it may be worth having a look - they also do bespoke rings. I will post the link on your wall :)

I am hoping to apply for the marriage licence this week! I also need to sort out my pass port for the hneymoon. I cant believe how expensive they are.
All we have to sort out now is the suits but H2B is sorting that out in summer.

Well im hoping they let me out/in when we go away, my passport was only renewed in 2008 but since then i have lost 2 stone, changed my hair from blonde to brown and grown it from my chin to my boobs! needless to say i look nothing like my picture! but as you say, v xpensive to change!

I too have got to get my passport as mine ran out 2years ago.im going to get it in my maiden name and just use it in that till it runs out as expensive to change name. Not sent any save the dates out yet so need to do asap.Bought my invites but have to make my evening invites,not sure though on how to word them as we cannot afford all our friends to bring a plus one as numbers are limited to 130max.We are continplating with the idea of a roullette table to break things up alittle and maybe a band? Im not keen on just the dj alone and would like a lively atmosphere.Im not big on attention to myself. I have kind of loosened off on how much it is costing us which we are paying as we go along then taking a short term loan/0% credit card for the rest.still have a budget but im not breaking a sweat anymore....its the one big thing left for me in my life as i see it so hey.I still dont like to be ripped off though with things. Im struggling to find a good make-up artist? I have scarring on my face and body from adult acne so need good coverage. You all sound like your well organised i just feel kind of overwealmed i suppose as im doing it all on my own and have no help,but coming on here does help with ideas/inspiration. Gutted as i was bidding on a pair of Jimmy Choos and lost :-( nice try, il keep checking to see how your all geeting along ....happy planning :-) xxx

Ive been making my invites for ages!!! I was going to try and finish them off tomorrow but i have now found out that after my h2b saying that he was going to look after our daughter for the day and i could do what i wanted i have now found out his granda is coming over to help h2b in our garden so thats stuffed my plans for making invites as its a nightmare trying to get things done when shes kicking about grrr but on the plus side i had another 2 brooches arrive today for my brooch bouquet. Its looking so good and they are all here yet but im getting excited to see what its going to look like once its all done.

Yeah my evening invites are dragging! i have 50 to do and so far done 16! Im really annoyed as i ordered some charms to make wine glass charms so i had a change from making invites and some desparado from RM stole all the charms inside the envelope so now i have to send packaging back to sender before they will send me more! grrr! Its go tme worried though as i ordered some necklaces for my BM's and only 2 out of 4 have turned up so far....... :(

Marie i am sending my invitations out at the beginnining of April with an rsvp date of 15th May.If i get any rejections that then gives me enough time to bump people and send them day invitations with a rsvp of mid june.I will then send out my evening invitations in July/Aug. It might seem a bit early to send them but i am aware that our wedding being on a Friday people will need to book leave etc. Your hairdresser/makeup artist seems a bit pricey to me,is it just for you? I am doing my own makeup but i did look and around here it would be about £70 for a trial and makeup for the day.My hairdresser is coming to the venue and doing myself and flowergirl for £40( my trial will take place during normal hair appointments) MrsB2B, your post service seems rubbish,i hope you have put a complaint in thats really bad! xxx
