Registry Office is totally paid off as of today woop woop!! All we have to do in regards to that is send them the email confirming how we want the ceremony to be conducted, what vows we want etc and then pop the CD in to them for our entry/registry signing/exit music! Even if we can't afford anything else, at least we know we're definitely getting married lol x

OMG!!! Erm Ladies i am no longer a October 2012 bride! As of yesterday i became a July 2012 Bride which gives me roughly 5 months!! if i wasnt freaking out a little before (which i was) i certainly am now lol. Great last minute deal with the venue and my boy just whipped out the credit card to pay the deposit! done! argghhh :)))))) i am soooooo excited but must get my arse into gear. wish me luck!!!! xx

Well i'm gutted, just found out that our venue has been avoiding speaking to me because they're in financial trouble. My brother is a DJ and the company he works for used to do alot of jobs for them but they've cancelled a load of dates with them. Rumour is they are going into administration, so we've had to start from scratch looking for another hotel/venue, cant believe it

Ive just signed up for some insurance and they say if we haven't cancelled yet then we might be covered, the venue haven't officially told us they're cancelling yet so we might have a case against them as we know what's happening with them before they've told us if you understand what i mean.

I suppose its worth a shot but i wouldn't count on it,you know what insurance companies are like! If they can get out of paying then they will.I would suggest that if/when your venue cancel make sure that you have it in writing showing clearly when you were told so that if needs be you can prove to the insurance company that you didn't know before you took out the insurance. I would also contact your venue and tell them what you have heard.It may be just a rumour,fingers crossed but if its not you want to be front of the queue if they are refunding people before they run out of money completely.Good Luck xxx

Thanks, my h2b is going to go and see the manager and tell her our concerns and see what she says, my brother is a reliable source and he's the one that told me the trouble the hotel were in. I think we will ask her for a letter stating how much we've paid so far though, just say its for our records and hopefully thats the proof we will need, but i'm not going to stress too much if we don't get it back, just want to move on and book a more reliable place

I'm so happy, we've made the decision to go with another venue, they have been absolutely brilliant and what they're offering is so much better, is costing slightly more but we are finding the extra. Thank goodness for that, can relax a bit again now lol

Marie just research everything, find the best price. I found this hard as I am getting married 200 miles from where I live! I have done my best and found some fab deals....

Hi Kirsty, my h2b went to see her and she tried to say they couldn't refund the deposit so he pulled out the letter that confirmed what we'd paid and there is nowhere on the letter that says its non refundable so she hasn't got a leg to stand on. We are waiting to hear from her now but my h2b is going to go back again on monday to tryt and get the money. We've sought advice and actually been told we can take her to the small claims court and would win. Hoping it doesn't come to that

We booked our venue on the 29th Jan 2011 and the only contacted us in Feb this year to get the ball rolling. Although we could contact them at any time if we had any questions!

Kirsty - I've been on a diet for 6 weeks, lost 7lb in the first 3 weeks, completely lost it in the 4th week and put 4lbs on and its taken me a further 2 weeks to get back down to the original 7lb loss... Some weeks i just can't be bothered but i sooooo need to get my butt in gear as i've got a lot to lose!
Clarabella - We paid the deposit on our reception venue in November and they don't need to know seating/table arrangements or layouts etc until 3 months before.

I'm the same Clarabella, i need to lose a few extra pounds around my bum and thighs and could do with it going on my bust lol Had my first dress fitting last year then was ill for 4 months so gained alot of weight so now i've got a couple of inches to lose round my middle again. Have started doing alot of walking so hoping that helps

I have had a good day.Arranged for my hairdresser to do mine and daughters hair at the venue on the day for an amazing £25 and £15 each which i am thrilled about.I have also arranged to go and see my wedding co-ordinator in order to talk about menus,seating arrangements,timings for the day etc (you know the little things that wizz round your head in the small hours!) The venue don't require us to discuss these things until 3 months before but i will go mad if i don't know whats what before then lol-totally get where you are coming from Clarebella! xxx

hi all, just read all your recent posts...me and h2b paid our venue deposit dec 2009 then had to pay £1000 12months before and rest 12 weeks before our day.when we have to settle we need to know theme,numbers attending and meals having. im trying to shape up not just for the wedding but the honeymoon.it is hard to get motivated espically as my dress is 2 sizes too big so have that in the back of my mind.i am last minute with some things.lol. i need a persdonal trainer too boot me up my bum,ha,ha. anyhow think ive got my colours for the wedding cream,chocolate and orange.the orange, as that symbolises work where we met.got to get my hair and make up sorted very soon just dont like to be ripped off with the prices some charge. we will have to support each other with the eating/cutting down food habits ..do you think?? great prices poulton bride. xx

I really need to lose some weight. I put some on over Christmas and it just does not want to budge. Fortunately I am back on placement now until June so hopefully can lose it then as usually do rather than sitting in a classroom all day. I can afford to lose some weight as the dress ties at the back in a corset, but it's fitted to my measurements from before Christmas.
Venue is all booked and registrar is done, had a friend make up an invite to see how it looks and it is great so going to go with her. Only things we need to do is get the bridesmaids dresses and the mens suits.

We went to our venue today so that i could ask all those little niggly questions that whizz round your head in the small hours.I am so glad we went as i now have everything sorted in my head.Even though she really didn't have to see us until eight weeks beforehand our coordinator was more than happy to see us and go through all of our questions.She said at the end of the meeting that although she doesn't need answers until eight weeks before she is happy to see us again before that if we need answers.I feel so reassured and would urge any of you ladies that are not having another meeting until a few weeks before to book another appointment if you feel the need.You will probably find that your venue are happy to see you.xxx

Seeing my MIL to be tonight as she's helping me with the invites, so i can get them sorted out. We've finally sorted out both our day and evening guest lists so i know how many invites to make now. Saw the vicar on Monday and that went well so thats all sorted. I've managed to lose another 2lbs so thats 5 and half lbs over 5 weeks so i'm happy. Oh yes and I found some beautiful favour boxes on the bay of e that almost match my invitation design so i ordered them. Slowly getting things in place and all this with a broken wrist haha

Hello! I am getting married on the 6th of Oct and I can't wait :-) . I have the venue booked and just finalising my wedding band. I know what flowers I want just need ti find a florist. We have only been engaged 1.5 months so didn't have that much time to organise things. Hopefully we will be sending our own design save the date cards this ir next week will post the pic so you can all have a little laugh they won't be brilliant but I refuse to pay so much money for designed ones.can someone have a look at my wedding album and tell me what you think about my wedding ring as my engagement ring is a bit unusual :-) .

OMG ladies time is going so fast only 227 days for me ahhhhhhh. I am off to my venue next thursday for there wedding fare but also to mee with the coordinator , florrest and hairdresser. Its all very exciting!
I had a big a awful week last week (wedding wise). I really could have fallen out with my mum. She is determined to annoy me I am sure. She wasts different (more expensive) button hole to everyone and she is dictating who can and carnt go!!!! She said that marks familey are very selfish for coming to the wedding because they know how much me and mark are struggling. Then in the next breath she invited 4 more people!!!!! I really considered cancelling the whole thing last week. This wedding has got completely out of control. I have gone from 40 to 80 guests because I feel I have been bullied into inviting them! So now I am a good £3000 over budget and now MIL is demading a buffet at the night because people might get hungry and we cant expect them to buy there own food!!!! My thought is ' who gets hungry after eating a 4 course meal at 5pm!!!! She has said she is paying for the buffet because I made it clear that I can NOT afford it.

That must mean its 225days for me! I can't imagine that your guests will be at all hungry if they have had a 4 course meal at 5pm but if your mil is daft enough to pay for the buffet then at least you're not!Just take plenty of tupperware with you so you can take home the leftovers for tea the following night-saves you cooking lol! xxx

237 days for me, i've got a bit more to go than you three lol Kirsty i agree with Kim, if your mum feels she needs to pay for a buffet then let her.and if she's determined to have a different buttonhole to everyone else then suggest she pays for that too. Its your day so should be your way honey. Families can be so difficult sometimes when it comes to weddings and can lose sight of who's day it is. I'm sure things will settle down and enjoy the wedding fayre x

I told my mum to bugger off the only person having a special button hole is mark because he is the groom! I want them to match if she is different she wont look like part of the bridal party.
I cant wait for the wedding faye because I havent been to one eeek! Plus it is a night off being a mummy lol.... I cant take advantage too much because we have to be at the hair dressers for 11.30am lol!
OMG I just had the fright of my life. Im sat on my bed typing this and my neighbour just started drilling the wall. made me scream lol!
