Hi all, sorry but been quiet busy you know how it is. Nice to see your back Kat and that you will get there. Its not the amount of money spent but the friends, family and whole feeling of the day.It will be fab for you im sure :-) I went to get my two bridesmaid dresses yesterday after having no luck with ordinary shops in meadowhall i went to a bridal shop.I did say i would go halfs on the dresses but i didnt expect them to be as much....just like most other things not much of an idea.Costing £179.00 each then £25 for chiffon shawls and alterations between £15 and £25 each. Do you think there expensive or is that about right? I also got to confess as feel quiet bad, but i had a little melt down and did have tears later on that day worse thing was infront of my h2b sister and my sister.Just feel alittle pressure as im sure you all do.Prob just need to talk about it and get it off my chest.... anyhow you all seem to be getting on well with what you have left to do.Are any of you getting little pressie for your h2b for before the wedding day and if so what please? x

Marie, we all have meltdowns every now and then. I'm not sure on the price of the bridesmaid dresses. Mine are just internet jobbys, sounds a tiny bit on the high side but I'm not the best judge.
Welcome back Kat, as Marie said the day is about the people not the price.
I'm doing my H2B a goody box on the night before the wedding, It will have new toiletries, cufflinks, socks, undies, hipflask and booze, mints, tissues and I'm sure I'll come up with a few other things. Kind of like a "groom survival kit"
I was printing my invites earlier and showing my Mum them, she said you better put the postcode of the hotel on just in case and asked what it was. I said what I thought it was, typed it in and said I'll check that before I print them. Guess what I forgot to do.........Yep wrong postcode. DOH! About half are printed wrong. It was a good guess by me as it was one letter out and if you Sat Nav'd it it would take you to the other side of the main road. I could start again but I'm not going to. All the local guests can have the wrong postcode ones because they all know where the hotel is and it's on all the road signs. Silly me! I can't even blame a hangover which is what I normally do on a Sunday!

Love your idea for your h2b Redsez, must admit i've been wondering what to do as a gift for my h2b for the wedding, want it to be something personal to us and what we mean to each other, did think about a memory box from the first day we met til now with some personalised bits and pieces in it
CommentAuthorMrsA2B
Talking of gifts for h2bs..... Mine is a football fanatic - a Spurs fan - so I got in touch with the club and Harry Rednapp has sent a personalised letter congratulating us on our wedding day. I know he's not their manager anymore but h2b will still be chuffed. It's signed by him so it's a special keepsake. He's got his 'football wall' going up our stairs, so we can frame it and add it to that.
We went for our cake tasting on Saturday. Our friend is doing the cake for us but she wants to do everything professionally. The taster cakes she made for us were to die for. Our original design has gone out the window (lol) and we have decided on something totally different. She'll be making a mock up for us this week and sending us the pics! Never thought I'd say it but I'm so excited about a cake!! Lol

I went onto the official man utd website and they have a list of contacts for different departments and one included requesting a card or letter from the team or manager from the Manager's Office. I've posted it off today so we'll have to wait and see if they reply lol

Had a couple more replies back yesterday. Most are back now though thankfully, H2B needs to chase some of his family though to see if they are coming. Some are his cousins who are not talking to each other even though they are twins, and he upset one of them recently by telling her to sort it out and start talking. Counting the numbers though we are under what I thought we would be, and we need certain amount to get the dance floor. Also one of his other cousin's replied saying they would most likely be at the evening do!!! We are not even doing an evening do so I have asked him to find out what she means. The wedding is at 3pm, food being served at 6pm, so does she mean she is coming for food serving time or after food serving time? We were told that all evening guests need to be catered for.

I did not really have much choice as the room we are getting married in is the same room we are having the reception in so had to give them time to rearrange it. I was talking about this just now with friends as we are getting married at 3 like I said, food at 6. I was going to do canapes but we have decided against them. I was doing them so that people would not get hungry in that time, but if the wedding is at 3 then they would of had their lunch and they would not normally eat between then and dinner time anyway.
I just purchased my Where's Wally costume for my hen night. Only 86 days until I get married.

We are getting married at 1pm and not sitting down to eat until 3.45pm so i don't think three hours is too long,i think with photos and chatting to guests and a couple of drinks it will fly by. Its all starting to feel close now.Yesterday i booked my planning meeting with my wedding co-ordinator to go through all the details of the day/meal choices etc etc (booked for 30th July) Also booked my first dress fitting (3rd September) and today i have booked for my nails and eyelash extensions for two days before the wedding (3rd October) I have also finalised all the jorney times/trips and ribbon colours with car people. Just got to get hold of the vicar now and get the music/hyms/readings and order of service ready for a planning meeting with him.Its all terribly exciting...god knows what i'll be like closer to the time...a quivering jelly i imagine! xxx

Only 88 days for me!! how exciting yay!!! We said we wouldnt do anything for the evening because I dont see people being hungry but MIL2B insisted we needed to provide food! She said she is paying for it though so Im not fussed! so at 9pm canapes will be served!

Slightly peeved off as we are having a late wedding so that we only need to do the one reception. Anyhoo, one of H2B's cousins has now said she won't be at the ceremony etc but will arrive at 830pm to the evening do. There is not really an evening do as such as it is all one reception. We are supposed to cater for any people who are there in the evening. I just hope nobody notices they are there and we have not paid.

Im getting married on the 7th only 83 days to go.
We too are way over budget. Im thinking 3-4000 over. I am hoping we will be able to afford it all in the end....

Morning all.
Had a dream last night that we got married and afterwards I suddenly thought eeekkk we have no photos to look at as the photographer forgot to turn up!!!
I think we have more or less everyones invites back now so can get sorted on the seating plan. Still waiting on my step sister's reply, not sure if she will come. I think she will probably want to come but not her husband as he is a big willy head!

Ouch! (to the over budget-ness and the bad dream)
I found somewhere that does cheap, good quality wholesale flowers so I'm happy. However I haven't calculated how over budget we are yet.
CommentAuthorLisaM80
i ordered my dress last night!!! i know i've left it really late but i couldnt choose between 2 and seem to work better under pressure! i literally didnt even think about it, just logged on went to a dress and payed for it! just hope i've made the right choice! so on todays agenda - flowers! has everyone else bought dressed for flower girls yet? i have 4 flower girls all aged 2 and i want to leave it as long as possible to buy their dresses as they are growing so fast i want their dresses to fit perfectly. so far i think we are coming under budget but i havent added up all the little things and put them altogether yet, time will tell on that note...
CommentAuthorPB
Under budget...now thats a dream lol! I daren't tot up everything but i would say we have definitely doubled our original budget (which granted was unrealisticaly low) if not trebbled! Congratulations on finding your dress, you do like working under pressure! xxx
CommentAuthorLisaM80
we've saved money by getting the bridesmaids to pay for half of their dresses, they are also buying their own shoes and paying for their own hair/makeup. also we have a newly qualified photographer who is only charging £100 as it will be her first wedding! x x

I have just sent an email cancelling our band :(
We were unsure as to whether we should keep them as our venue offer a dj in the price. It has freed up extra money to spend on other things. I'm a little disappointed but I know it was the right decision

I have had dreams where I have got married with no make up on and I have dreamt the venue has added a rickety tower for people to sit in during the ceremoney!! Iv had some bizzar dreams.
