    this thread is quiet.....
hows u all getting on?I have been having words with my h2b to get more involved now i cannot do it all on my own.Going to confirm day guest list this week and do invites with maps etc.Im starting to worry about my dress as have not had the feeling your suppose to get with it,but im not a dress person so maybe i wont cos of that? i did go for my dress cos it seemed a little different and the price, thought i could spend the money else where.Im having second thoughts though as ive been thinking im doing it once shall i just say go for what i love and forget to a certain extent the money side? have paid for my dress already.Im always quiet careful what i spend money on.x

What have you got left to do? I'm twiddling my fingers until nearer the time, have 20ish evening invites to make and favours/placenames and suits..... And that's about it! Other than menu tasting which is booked in July and hair!

With regard to your money, well, I guess it depends if you can afford it. I have tried to keep costs down and realistic and will be spending what I could have spent on something else for our future! Xx

    hello ladies

do you think 28th july is too early to get measured for dress alterations? Shop has said ideally it should all be done a month before - i hopefully only need some length taking off front of frock.... (wedding 20th october)

I still have quite a bit to do - suits , give notice, agree ceremony content, buy rings, pick flowers, flower girl outfits, BM shoes, agree hairstyle, book honeymoon, lots of little finishing touches - its all in hand tho so im not worried.

I feel organised, i've sorted everything that i can think of and have just posted all of my day invitations. I'm getting married on the 13th October and my theme is autumn with lots of browns, oranges, champagne colours and bark centrepieces. The only things we need to do is buy our rings (we've chosen them!) and get the little extras like flowergirl shoes etc. :) x

Aww cool I like your colours! I'm getting married in an art deco hotel so colours had to match, going black, white and burgundy! I've got quite a few things left to do.....

We went to look at h2b suit hire and were told to go back in July with an appointment!

I've got 48 wine glasses to spray and tipex names on to!

    20 evening invites to make

    Table plan to finalise

    The crucial songs to confirm

And some minor other bits like find new shoes maybe as even though mine are light ivory they are too yellow for my dress! Arrrgh!
Going to d hams today to get some sheer cover make up for tattoo so may find something there!

On the plus side, a friend at work has said he will play the bongo's/ percussion in the evening as a wedding present! How amazingly sweet! I said to him it probably won't be a great dj as its someone who comes with the wedding package, he said he was thinking about that and was making a few phone calls!!! How fab is this guy!! So excited now! X

The only reason i have sent my invites out so early is because we have lots of people coming from away and there is only 4 hotels in the area, one of those is our wedding venue and has the bridal party staying in, another hotel has a wedding in that day so has no rooms available so people need to book the other 2 hotels before they book up!! It is absolutely flying by now though, will be here before we know it. What dates in October is everyone else getting married? Mine is the 13th! xx

So hows everyone getting on? Not long now ladies!!! Ive just finished making all my thank you cards, my table plan is taking shape and ive just bought all the little bits to put in a gift basket in the ladies toilet for refreshment. Aside from paying off the photographer and venue, we have the confetti cones, place names and favours, sweetie table and photo board to finish. I have 45 points left on my to-do list but mostly fiddly little things. Had my hair trial yesterday which was great and i need to get my dress taken up which is my only worry as i dont know how much it will cost!

I've come to a bit of a stand still. I'm fed up of organising! My 30th party is in a month and I haven't even thought about it because its all wedding.

I did say that I wanted to give a lot of my invites out at my party to save on postage but i haven't even started making them. Whoops!

I cant say i blame you, the price of stamps is ridiculous! We gave our day invites out with christmas cards and our evening ones out just before the cost of stamps went up... both a little early but it saved us money and apart from some evening invites, we have most of the rsvps back which means we can get on with table plans and what not.

Have you thought of the usual favour ideas Oct12bride? Chocolates, sweets, lottery tickets, or are you looking for something a little different? We decided to go for organza bags filled with chocolates with the name tag on the bag to make it a place setting too. Ive been quite creative with other aspects of the day but i decided that favours generally get left or unappreciated so went for the easy option!

Well I would be happy with some chocolates, only I keep being told off the inlaws that it isnt good enough!!! Urghhh cant please any of them these days!.

I got some little keyrings with our name and wedding date engraved but im debating now whether they look cheap and nasty! They are white with black writing and on the back is a bottle opener!

I am having little silver bells that double as placecard holders. To be honest most favours end up getting left on the table or put in a drawer and forgotten about as soon as you get home so i think that there is no point going to too much effort or expense. I think chocolates are a fab idea as at least you know people will eat them and they wont go to waste! xxx

My favours are joint placenames. I did the wine glass spraying and have written their names in tipex and then put a wine glass charm around it and then an organza bag with choices and mints in!

Was waiting for nicer weather to spray the wine glasses, I hope summers not over already! Lol x

A friend of mine who got married last year never even gave out favours. Why they were not even on the table I do not know, but they were toss!!! She ended up palming me off with a couple, one of which was a tacky handbag holder, one you put on the table to hold your bag, and see as I always wear ones with long straps across my body it would not work! Another was a bar of soap from a well know shop, and she wrapped them in tissue paper and put them into an organza bag! Well all the oils from the soap soaked into the tissue paper!! I still have it, in the bag with bits of tissue paper on it!

I decided on candles favours (I think)... we are having a candles every where so would fit very well. I am pondering having a candle ceremony but im not sure what it involves so need to do some research.

I found some candle favours that can be personised with a message and our wedding date which are quiet nice.... Or will this be tacky!!

I think we are on track too. I have to finish the rest of the evening invitations and get them posted today.Next job is to make the cake which i should do in the next couple of weeks plus i need to order decorations for the cake. Then its on to the table plan and name place cards and post box .I also need to get headpieces/facsinators for the bridesmaids and underwear for myself .That should bring me to two months before when we are meeting with the venue,dj,car people and vicar so then should be able to do my Order of Service. Then the following month its dress fittings-sounds perfectly manageable written down like that !
