I read somewhere getting married in September means I'm going to come into money. I can't remember the poem for the days of the week.

    Leap Year Proposals

Leap Year day had not recognition in English law; it was leapt over thus ignored. It was considered that this day had no legal status; it was reasonable that traditions also had no importance. Consequently, women who were concerned about being left alone took advantage of this anomaly and proposed to the man they wished to marry.

It was also thought that since the leap year day corrected the discrepancy between the calendar year of 365 days and the time taken for the Earth to complete one orbit of the sun (365 days and 6 hours), it was an opportunity for women to correct a tradition that was one-sided and unjust.

    Valentine's Day

Once married, remembering Valentine’s Day is a requirement. During the reign of Emperor Claudius, Claudius thought that bachelor soldiers would fight harder so he outlawed marriage. St. Valentinus, a priest, would marry people secretly. Another story says that Valentinus was a Christian who refused to worship pagan gods and was imprisoned. During this time, he made friends with the jailer's blind daughter and cured her through prayer. When he was executed, on February 14th, he left a note for her signed "your valentine”.

When and What…In June on Sunday?

The actual wedding, ceremony was officiated by the priest or civil authority. Old Church tradition and folklore warned against marrying unfavorably, and forbade marriage during Lent and Advent. Marriage was also avoided in the months of May and August. May was suggested to be reserved for the veneration of the Virgin Mary, and August was thought to invite bad luck and sickness. For other months of the year, Sunday marriages were believed to be the luckiest for the wedding couple.

Sunday used to be the most popular wedding day, as it was the one-day most people were free from work. Puritans in the Seventeenth Century put a stop to this; however, believing it was improper to be festive on the Sabbath.

These famous poems would assist the bride on her wedding date choice:

    Mondays for health,
    Tuesdays for wealth,
    Wednesday best of all,
    Thursday for losses,
    Friday for crosses,
Saturday for no luck at all.

Married when the year is new, he'll be loving, kind and true,
When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate.
If you wed when March winds blow, joy and sorrow both you'll know.
Marry in April when you can, Joy for maiden & for Man.
Marry in the month of May, and you'll surely rue the day,
Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you'll go.
Those who in July do wed, must labor for their daily bred,
Whoever wed in August be, many a changes sure to see.
Marry in September's shrine, your living will be rich and fine.
If in October you do marry, love will come but riches tarry.
If you wed in Bleak November, only joys will come, remember.
When December snows fall fast, marry and true love will last.

A superstitious bride would set her wedding during a time when the moon is growing fuller and her ceremony for a time when the hands of the clock are on the rise.

1 = A personal year, month or day of 1 is a number of beginnings, new starts. People in a 1 personal year, month or day have a tendency to be a bit self absorbed. Ambition is a key element of this number. Individualism. The number 1 does however remain a good number for a wedding date as it indicates a start and a commitment to the new life.

2 = A personal year, month or day of 2 is a number of unions, balance and diplomacy which makes it ideally suited to the taking of vows, signing of contacts, entering into a long and fruitful union. The number 2 is the opposite to the number 1 in that it ignores self interests and ambition to work with others to create harmony, productivity and creativity.

3 = A personal year, month or day of 3 is a number of joy, happiness, social gatherings, self expression and creativity. A 3 personal day is the best day for a happy social gathering of friends. A wedding on this day would be a successful social event that would be joyful and memorable.

4 =A personal year, month or day of 4 is a number of restrictions, hard work, setbacks and is considered unlucky in east asian cultures. Stay at a hotel in China or Korea and you will find no 4th floor and usually no 13th either. The number 13 is considered unlucky by western cultures, in numerology it reduces to 4 (1+3) the two numbers being related in their symbolic meaning. Of all the numbers in numerology this is the number you really want to avoid for a wedding date. It is the number of bad luck.

5 = A personal year, month or day of 5 is a number of freedom, travel, changes, the un-exepected and sensual pleasures. It is not a number for settling down or entering into a union that sacrifices freedom. It is a number of sexual attraction, a good number if you are looking to meet someone new but not for creating a bond with someone you are already with.

6 = A personal year, month or day of 6 is a number of family, responsibility and the home. Of all the numbers in numerology this number is the most auspicious number for creating a home with someone, settling down and perhaps having a family too if that is important to you. Try to have a 6 in the personal date numbers of both the bride and groom when picking a date for a wedding.

7 = A personal year, month or day of 7 is a number of rest, introspection and is the spiritual number. If you are entering into marriage with some emphasis on religious or spiritual significance then 7 may be a good number for you. Otherwise it should be treated as a day of rest, a day to think ahead, look before you leap and not act.

8 = A personal year, month or day of 8 is a number of wealth, power, fertility and good luck. When China hosted the Beijing Olympics the games began on 08/08/08 for this very reason. In east asia 8 is considered very lucky. It represents the infinite in it's shape. Every marriage and every wedding day needs some element of luck and the 8 carries it like no other number.

9 = A personal year, month or day of 9 is a number of endings, the clearing out of the old, compassion and humanity. It is a neutral number in many ways, but as a number for a wedding date it does not aspire to the creation of something new, the start of a union. If this number is impossible to avoid in your date planning remember too that it can signify the ending of being single if looked at in a positive manner.

11= A personal year, month or day of 11 is a special day as 11 is a master number. Master numbers are rare and have dual meanings. They can be reduced further to a base number. So 11 becomes a 2 (1+1). As the 2 is a good number for a wedding date so too is the 11. The 11 can charge you up with inspiration, illumination and intuition. This, however, can also make you feel highly self-conscious.

22 = A personal year, month or day of 22 is a special day as 22 is a master number. Master numbers are rare and have dual meanings. They can be reduced further to a base number. So 22 becomes a 4 (2+2). Although the 4 is considered unlucky and should be avoided for a wedding date the 22 is not. 22 is rarer than the 11 and is called the master builder. There is a promise of greatness to the number 22. A bride or groom with a 22 in their wedding date can take this union to greatness, a very auspicious number.

    LOL IS THAT ENOUGH???????????

Ok, so from that I got:
Thursday - Brings Crosses (WTF does that mean btw?)
Married in pink, your fortune will stink
Married in black, you'll wish you were back (Again, WTF?)
    Thursday for losses,
When February birds do mate, you wed nor dread your fate. (is this good or bad? Lol)
3 = A personal year, month or day of 3 is a number of joy, happiness, social gatherings, self expression and creativity. A 3 personal day is the best day for a happy social gathering of friends. A wedding on this day would be a successful social event that would be joyful and memorable. (the only bit that actually sounds good!)
