Aww nice... I don't have the £££ for a photographer, as I'm sure is the same with a lot of ladies on here. I have a friend doing it, she's not trained, but am sure there will be some shots in there x

    Here comes the bride......

I'd just like to say that if my name is drawn then please re-draw this and pass the prize onto the next lady. My wedding (both of them LOL!) have now been and gone (sob, sob) so I'd much rather it went to someone who needed this.

I know I am not a power user but having read through this thread, I am intrigued. Does UK bride have competitions which benefit those living outwith the south of England? I dont know anything about the prizes other than what ive read on here. I am just wondering if it would be better to try and find a company, thats willing to donate prizes, that is nationwide. Rather than assuming every one who matters lives in London........

I think alot of them are nationwide, We won our Honeymoon a few months back (from Kuoni), and so far i have not had to leave my house to arrange things :) the ring company have reps in most areas as far as i am aware, but do not know anything about the cake prize. I have not had chance yet to look at the photography website, is it commonm to charge £1000 and not get any photographs? thats a massive amount to pay just for the photorapher to shoot the pics! xxx

Rockabilly this is the first prize that has been questionable in terms of locations

prizes to date have been: (not necessarily in order)

    Wedding dress
Rings to the value of £1000(twice)
    Wedding Cake
    Venue Dressing
    Hen night goodies (twice)
    Honeymoon
    Boudiour photoshoot
    Honeymoon Clothing
    Wedding photography

As you can see a great range of prizes and almost all (aside from latest one) were very much national prizes.
We have a great list of suppliers who are willing to offer up services/products up to the value of £1000 (and in some cases more ie dress and honeymoon) each month what is included/excluded is just the way it is i'm afraid.

But at the end of the day looking back at that list, who are we to complain LOL

I realise I may have sounded ar5ey in my comment, didnt mean to :-/ sorry. Like I say I dont really know cos I dont pay much attention to this as Im not a power user, was just wondering if it was always like that. Sounds like you have had some good prizes in the past. It is a shame that this one isnt suitable for people outwith that area though. (also kevs angel, Id never pay that amount for a photographer unless I was rich lol, I cant afford a professional photographer so a few friends are taking photos for us)

Once again, sorry if I sounded mean there, was meant to sound jovial lol

    Hello Brides!!

I've just spoken to Tim Spiers Photography. He has told me he will travel anywhere in the UK.

The albums which can be purchased are graffiti studio storybook albums, which are the best you can get, he also does digital albums.

    Hope this helps!

Just to clarify, is he willing to travel included in the prize or at an additional charge as it said in the initial terms and conditions?

And is there a CD/DVD of digital files included if you don't want an album?

This month's prize is still extremely good, Tim Spiers Photography is an amazing photographer. He has won lots of awards for his wedding photography. You will be treated like a princess, and have incredible images taken of your big day.

Photography of this high standard, would normally cost a substantial amount of money, but this prize gives this quality service free of charge to one lucky bride to be, and all you need pay for are the images afterwards if and when you want them. Travel is not included out of the 90 minutes distance, but what you get in return is the best quality service, and images you could ever have hoped for.

Your photos record the whole day as it unfolds, you deserve the best.

It should be made clear how much brides would be expected to pay should they win and live outside of the 90 minute perimeter.

You can't just keep repeating that it's an excellent prize, when for someone who lives in Inverness it would NOT be an "excellent prize"!

I am sure its a wonderful prize and if I was a power user in the area he works and I won - I'd be over the moon :-)

Its more that you would have to pay to get him there and then for the photos which, to brides who are miles away, is a huge cost and would probably end up paying more that they would if they booked a photographer from close by. I can understand why power users from over the country would feel as if this prize is not aimed towards them.

However, I am sure whoever wins will be over the moon and I wish I could afford a pro photographer like that.

Rockabilly Chick - If you're looking for a photographer I know a couple of awesome photographers in Edinburgh who would quite happily travel to Glasgow and who are both into the rock/rockabilly/burlesque scene (and it would still cost less than paying for the travel costs of this prize).

I'd love to have a professional photographer but we dont have a big enough budget unfortunately :-(

We've got a couple of friends who've done photography courses who've offered to take photos for us to build up their portfolio. So we've got a few folk taking photos for us but no pro photographer. We are on such a tiny budget that we've spent nearly all of it on the venue and have not much left over for the other stuff :-(

Thank you for the help though :-)

I'm in inverness, so this prize would be worthless to me. Would cost me almost £1000 in travel costs, accomodation costs (for 2 photographers) and then paying for the photos. They would have to come up the night before, and if they are doing coverage for the whole day, then they wouldnt be going home till the day after. So thats 2 nights expenses and accomodation costs.

afraid this one is a lil bit sucky for us Scottish Girls UKB, unless there is a cash alternative?

if I win this one, I will be giving away to a london lass to get the benefit of

Can I just get this straight, we'd have an award-winning photographer for the day but wouldn't actually have any pictures until you pay out for them???????

Just checking, because like a few others on here I can't afford a photographer, and if he charges £1,000 just to take the photos and you need to buy them separately, how much is he going to hold the only images of your day to ransom for???

    Hoping for enlightment! lol xx

I would image you would get 'some photo's' and then an option to purchase the better quality later....yes he may have awards etc but in my opinion £1000 just for services is treble any insurances on equipment and travelling costs within the 90 minute zone

so it avoids the mods having to faff about when the winner is drawn, why dont we set up a section for PU regarding this prize on who and who would not be interested? Just saves them ringing around constantly to find anyone who lives nearby or who is willing to pay for travel expenses. I am too far away and have my photographer booked so to save wasting mods time, I am more than happy to be excluded from this prize. Thanks guys.

It would come down to cost at the end of the day thou as living jst outside Edinburgh i don't know how much it would cost for travel arrangement etc. Do you think the photographer would b happy for me to drive down, pick them up for an eight hr drive here and then be happy to stay with my in-laws for a couple of days lol. I have a feeling thou tht the prize will b won by someone within the area. if i was to win and it worked out too expensive i'd open a free raffle to all the power users who wanted in thou. Mayb get every1 to pick a number and do it with the lottery bonus ball lol xx

ok after reading all this im not sure its the greatest of prizes, especially for those of u who live further than the 90mins away, but it is a prize after all and if it costs 1000 for the photographer to just be there on the day then 1, he must be an absolutely fantastic photographer, and 2 i wonder how much he charges for the photos! i believe he stays for 10 hrs? so really this is good as its the whole day and if i won the prize i would be grateful as i cant even afford a photographer so yes i may not be able to afford to buy the wedding photos for a while, but at least there will be stunning wedding photos to have the option of buying, rather than not having any at all! my conclusion is, i would be happy if i won and everyone knows the saying never look a gift horse in the mouth! (i may be a bit biased as i live just outside london!) x
