    Hey girls i was wondering as me and h2b r under the age of 28 and dont have valid passport we were told that we have to have our mother birth certficats but my mum had to reapply for hers and her regaster said ahe has never heard of such a thing, was wonder if any of u lovely girls have been asked the same thing i dont understand if ur under the off 28 thing just fells like if ur over the age of 28 ur more responsable dont get lol any iders? xx

    Ummm... not too sure..Im 41 and H2B is 48
    however when we gave our notice of marriage last year,

    we had to take in Our Birth certificates, passports 2 utility bills and our decree absolutes, and I also had to take in my marriage
    cert from my previous marriage (which i had to pay for a copy)

    that seems a bit weird. when we went we had to take id, birth certs and a bill such as electric or phone each. we were told we could take our driving licience aslong as we took the paper bit aswell or our passport that was valid. have a look online hun at your local registry office website and see what it says xx

    Hmmm they never said anything about utility bills but there all in my name so i dont think that would work i am going to phone the main on for my county as my local is getting shut down to save money which sucks big time xx

    i took my phone bill and it was fine. otherwise a bank/credit card statement xx

    i have never heard of this, surely your own birth certificate is valid, we only took our birth certificates with us and bills/bank statements etc :) x

    I married him and became Mrs Garnham.
    It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.

    Yeah just phone up and they said ur under 28 so u need ur mothers birth certif no uttilets bills nothing werid maybe its just scotland lol xx

    H2b has to take his mums birth certificate because he is 26 and doesnt have a passport. xx

    yes you can get married from the age of about 16, so why 28, seems very weird :) x

    I had this conversation with our regisrtar the other day they said its only needed if you were born after 1982 0r 1983 cant remember which one lol. xx

    I no it is i would understand if u were under the age of 21 but 28 is odd, and just found that banns dont get read out in the church of scotland anymore so i get the 3 weekends before my wedding for all the final bits that need done :) xx
