I have found some gorgeous bridesmaid dresses at a bargin price and I think they are really nice. Only problem is, when I shown my friends they said they were lovely but I shouldn't get them because they might up stage my dress. They said the idea is to choose awful dresses so the bride stands out. I dont really agree with this because if they look swfull then they will spoil the photo's.

I think its important for the BM dresses not to outdoo the brides dress, but I dont agree that they should look awful. I am going for simple but elegant BM dresses.. theres no way they could outdoo mine anyway hehe xxx

They're beautiful dresses, but they're definitely not going to upstage you! Your dress is gorgeous, and all eyes will be on the bride, not the bridesmaids... And I'm pretty sure if you picked them horrific dresses, they'd resent you for it... With those beautiful dresses you'll have gorgeous wedding photos and bridesmaid that are happy, and will be raring to help you on your wedding day xxxxx

i think if you like them get them its your wedding and if thats your wedding dress i cant see the bm ou tshining you they are lovely dresses and i dont think its right that bm have to be in awful dresses at the end of the day its your wedding and no one out shines the bride on her day

I love the dresses i would have them for my bridesmaid and flower girls if i havent already found our dresses. I would never buy a an awful dress for my maid of honour or flower girls i have pick out something really nice that compliments my dress and makes it stand out

I think the dresses are stunning. The idea isn't for the bridesmaids to look awful-they are actually meant to complement the bride, as is everything on the day. If they are in horrid dresses then people will be looking at them but for all the wrong reasons. I'd say get them! xx

I think theyre beautiful dresses. And its your day, no one is meant to upstage the bride, most certainly not the bridesmaids. Think about having a dash of colour somewhere to off set them from you but dont put them in something horrible, they'll secretly hate you for it! xx

they're lovely dresses, but personally I would go for a different colour as its a bit similar to yours. I don't think you should put your bridesmaids in something awful, thats ridiculous!!!! As if you'd want to be a bridesmaid and have to wear something hideous, and who in their right mind would do that to their friends? bizarre xx

The first thing I thought when I read you post Kirsty was that I hope you never have to be your friends bridesmaid :( Or if your are prepare yourself for the worst dress lol I love your bm dresses thay are flattering and complimentary to your dress but in no way will out shine you, that would be impossible in that amazing dress of yours :) Are you going for the colour in the pic? I imagine in 'real' life they are not as ivory as the pic potrays I think it's more of champagne colour? I may be very wrong but I sometimes find that the colour in the pic especially with irradescant dresses is usually much lighter than the dress themselves!

I did want them in champagn. I have ordered a swatch in champagn to see the colour and quality of the fabric. I did want champagn but if it is too light then I am thinking gold. I want to stick with ivory and gold theme, with a splash of red here and there..
