Well-it's a lot quicker to cancel stuff than it is to organize everything! All done-now I just have to re-organize! Going to give myself a couple of weeks off-then start again. I am surprisingly ok about it but my dad is fuming! Especially as we it's for the most stupid, annoying reason! Paul booked his holiday months ago-and the stupid woman in the office didn't put it in the book-so now there are too many people off and he is the only MOT tester there, so they won't give him the day off! He wanted to walk out but I told him not to-we need the money now I'm not working! Not only are they not letting him have the day off-but he has been put on disciplinary for shouting at the biatch in the office. He will be looking for another job!! Anyway-as they say "sheet happens" at least we still have each other! xx

oh my god! i'm sorry but i would not go in it is after all his wedding day! i'd take this further and i would risk losing the job what an awful company he works for i think i'd go! hope you havn't lost money etc if you have you should ask it back from them, thats awful i'm sure if they phoned around customers and explained they would be fine with it! why cant others give up their time off?

That is absolutely ridiculous Woo!! I take it the person who wouldn't let him have the time off wasn't a woman who's ever organised a wedding before!!!! Just because the woman didn't put it in. Has he got proof of his holiday request? If so I would take out a formal grievance against the woman for the turmoil and upset this has caused all of you. She is unable to do her job properly if she 'forgets' to put holidays in the book. If he's in a union he should contact them as well - he's definitely got a case. If you've had any cancellation charges then either her, or the company should then be liable for them. It sounds like a disgusting company - and if anyone needs to be on a disciplinary it should be that stupid woman.
