    hello there.

Not posted for a little while, gutted that this has to be my first post in a while though.

Right my partner a few weeks ago had a tiny accident at work on the forklift, the protocol for this was to get him a "refresher test" his boss tried to phone the examiner person but he was fully booked up for 3 weeks, so they told my partner they had no work for him untill this person could get in, so my partner had 3 weeks off, he hadnt heard a thing, so he walked over to the firm to see what was happening..

when he got there they had given him his P45 and said we are still waiting for the bloke to come in and then youll be back to work, another week went by and still hadnt heard, At this point i started getting a bit worried that they were just palming him off.
So he rang the firm, and they turned round and said we arent employing anyone at the moment and hung up. No one had told him that he had lost his job, he was completley gutted.. he loved that job:( he worked as many hours as they needed him to, did over time whenever they asked him to, and thats how they treat him..

we have no money coming in, Just what we needed a few months before our wedding:(

thank god the biggest parts of the wedding had already being paid..

sorry for the rant. just not excited now keep thinking something else is going to go wrong!

I'm sure there is grounds for unfair dismissal. They haven't followed proper procedures if they have fired him get onto citizens advice.

Sorry to hear your bad news, this company cant do this, they should be on top of the forklift training and if he required a refresher his previous training must of been out of date, that's the company's responsibility to keep that up and he should of refused to work past that date, they also cant just sack him he needs to take this further as this is unfair dismissal and they haven't followed any disciplinary proceedings, get him on to citizens advice and see what he can do.

Try not to let it get you too down its going to be a wonderful day regardless of the mishap with H2B's job.

    Xx

Sorry to hear that, these things tend to have a habit of happening at the worst possible moment! I know it's hard, but try not to worry and get stressed about it.. He will find something else and you will have the most magical day regardless :) x

What sort of accident did he have exactly? They can't just sack him for having an accident, especially not without telling him, I mean Christ... Might be an idea to speak to Citizens Advice and see where he stands? But if they're going to be f***ers about it, I don't suppose he was injured was he??

Sorry to read this :o( I agree that he should seek advice from Citizens Advice. Try not to let it get you down. My H2B is self employed and had no work for a couple months. It just happened to be over Christmas aswell and it's only just starting to pick up now just weeks before our wedding.

Got everything crossed for you both xx
