I've not been well for a while, and I finally opened up about it and went to see the doctor, who has booked me in to see the therapist. I've been suffering with terrible anxiety, and the physical symptoms that come with it have become overwhelming, and I'm really struggling at the minute. He's also booked me in for a blood test tomorrow as some of my symptoms are consistent with an over active thyroid (which has just made the anxiety so much worse after reading up on it). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to cope with it - I'm concerned that (apart from anything else) I wont be able to enjoy our wedding day as the anxiety will probably be in full swing! Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you xxx

only thing i can suggest is kepp talking about how you feel,if its out in the open people will understand, also delegate jobs that need doing to others so you can rest up .hope your feeling better soon xxx

When you feel like this it's really easy to feel sorry for yourself and slip into a depression, so don't do it! Keep talking about it with your doctor, make sure your h2b supports you and understands how it feels for you. If it ever just seems to get too overwhelming, ask for a hug, just the security of a hug is nice and calming. Otherwise I can only say don't give up, you'll come out the other side of this better.
Otherwise if you ever need someone to talk to, just grab me on the chat, I'm here practically every day hehe Hope it works out for you and good luck with the doctors!
Breathe in, breathe out...

Thank you ladies. Annette, I originally thought I had post-natal depression - it started when my daughter was quite young (she's now 17 months old) but I never wanted to admit to it as I thought people would think I'm a bad mother. I now know it's not depression but anxiety, although H2B and my mum think it all stemmed from having my daughter as I had a very traumatic labour/delivery, and maybe I did did suffer from some sort of PND as a result. (I also have been unable to leave my daughter as of yet, and have a severe lack of friends!) Just looking forward to getting this blood test done tomorrow as that's one less thing to worry about! x
Well got my blood test results back and they were normal, so my thyroid isn't over-active thankfully. As I thought, it's all down to anxiety, so hopefully the therapy will help!
