We had a letter from our wedding reception venue last weekend saying we needed to pay the deposit within 14 days to secure the date. There was no mention in the letter about who to send payment or what types of payment they would accept.
They won't return my emails and the woman is never there when I call, argh!!!! do they actually want our money?!
Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Just go down there if you can and if she's not there - ask for her manager

I very nearly did that last Friday as I was passing the hotel on the way to Tesco, I can't until this Friday now.....though if I haven't had a reply I will popping in and staying put until I've seen someone.
I do worry how the wedding planning will go if I'm already struggling to pay the deposit to them!

That's out of order! I think someone else on this board had similar issues with their registry office (can't remember who though...)
I'd go down there, if possible, and demand to speak to someone. If they still duck you, tell them that you're still looking for a venue (even if you're not) and you're hoping to have one that isn't so lax with their customer services. That should light a fire under their butts!
I would suggest having another peek at other venues just in case- if they're that disorganised or hard to get in touch with, I wouldn't trust them with my wedding.
