Hi everyone had a bit of a down weekend as when visiting my family found out my mum and gran are both due to have big operations and won't be fully recovered intime for our wedding in october this year. So after talking to family and vicar we have decided to postpone our wedding until 30th August 2014. But now some friends saying we being silly but I really want my mum and gran to be fully recovered so they can be there enjoying our big day with us x

Definitely the right decision.. I'd be devastated if my mum couldn't come to my wedding or wasn't well enough to enjoy it.. And more time to save for extra little things or honeymoon too :-) xx

that's such a shame but on the positive side your mum and gran will have time to recover and have something to look forward to rather than worry about being well enough for the day and wondering if able to go... also its the same date as ME :) so a brill date to choose. x

I don't think your friends should say that, I think they should be understanding, and of course u want ur family fully recovered at ur wedding....gutting u have to put it bk but at least you won't be worrying about how comfortable they are xx

I totally understand how you feel hun, My wedding was for Feb next year but due to his mum being ill with leukaemia and other infections she got at hospitals fault (more info on My wedding plans so far) We decided to postpone our wedding until Feb 2015 so that we could make sure we gave his mum plenty of time to recover and hopefully finish treatment, some friends and family were miffed but I'm past caring, all that matters to us is that she feels well enough to be able to enjoy the day with us plus with her daughter getting married last year and her eldest son getting married in Aug this year, us postponing it means she isnt under any preassure. So B**ls to what other people say if you want to wait until your mum and nan are better so as to ensure they can be part of your special day then that's your choice to make dont let what other's say bring you down Hugs to them both xx
