Soo, after a month of being engaged and several reasons (excuses) I still don't have my ring yet :( The latest plan was for him to get the ring from the jewelers today as I even went last weekend and chose it!!

BUT... the reason I don't have it is the Jeweler said he didn't think I was totally in love with the rings I saw and has told me to find a ring I like online, or design my own (!!) and he'll make it for me, exactly how I want :D

So it will take another couple of weeks (it will take him ten dates from getting the design to picking it up!) but it means I'll have *exactly* what I want! Now I just have to figure out what that is... :-/ lol

What??!! it has nothing to do with the Jeweler...its your engagement ring. Sorry not quite sure i understand this, if you liked it he should sell it to you!

When I saw them last weekend, I told h2b which ring I liked best of the ones that were there... When we spoke to the jeweler, I told him which one I had chosen, but also showed him a couple of pics of rings I found online that I liked the design of just in case he could get them in any of the other shops (this is hatton garden in london- about 50 jewellery shops on one street!) And he came back saying that since I had a fair idea of what I wanted already, then it would be best to get it designed my own way...

I'm with sam73 on this one, it really has nothing to do with the jeweller if you appeared to love your ring or not, you picked it he should sell it, after all he is making a profit out of it. And also, is he being sneaky in advising you to design your own etc. because he knows it will cost more than the one you picked to make? But if money is no object with your h2b then go for it! lol x

Thats what i thought GregorysGirl, that he is just trying to make more money when he knows that the ring originally choosen was lovely but he thinks if he tells her that one can be made for her she would jump at the chance - any girl wood, just seems like a con, but if you have the money then go for it

It will actually end up costing less! It's a friend of h2bs dad so very trustworthy. He will also give it to us at cost price :D

Go for it then, and at least you know it will be something that you will love and cherish for the rest of your married life together. Good to have the right connections with these things too! :)
I'm getting my ring from Argos too Mrs Hall2b, might only cost £50 but i loved it when i saw it, can't wait to get it but not just yet as i want to lose a stone first and it will probably go from my fingers first, lol. x

At first I really wanted the ring by the time I told everyone, but I'm not too worried as everyone knows now (and I still have only a temp ring- a freebie that came with my perfume bottle!)

At first I was a bit worried, I mean how can I decide something I absolutely love! But since then I've had soo many ideas of things I really like :) I'm thinking of this as the official start to the wedding planning! :D

Mine from argos was £80 and i love it. You cant go wrong with them. The only thing i would do is order it in 4 weeks before hand as they faffed us about for 3 months. As i was between sizes so we bought it then gave it back for them to re size was told it would take 2 weeks in June and i picked it up in the september. They told us in the end that they lost my ring after they had resized it so it took longer
