congratulations, i started by picking a colour scheme, and went from there. looked at everything i liked, put pictures on my profile to help me and asked alot of questions along the way. start thinking of your budget too. so that you know how much you can spend on each item. i went to try dresses on when i still had 18 months left and found the perfect one, just saving up for it now, got the venue booked recently, photographer is coming round on sunday, so its all coming together. order lots of bits and pieces of ebay too, buy little bits each week, you soon get bits and it doesnt stretch the finances :)x

Hello, congrats and welcome!
The first thing you need to do is...... enjoying being engaged for a bit! It can get very stressful so its worth relaxing for a little bit.

We've started by looking at venues on the net, then visiting them for prices etc.
Just started looking at dresses to find a certain style I want
Get your mam and bridesmaids invloved as early as possible to help you look through everything.
Keep an eye on wedding fayres in your area too, they're very helpful to get an idea and see for yourself what companies are offering, such as cakes, decoration, jewellery, flowers, photographers etc

Things to do
LOOK AT DRESS IDEAS, IF FIND THE ONE GET IT set date set budget figure out numbers (guests) find venue to hold this number for wedding AND reception figure out bridal party (whose bm, bm etc) Think of colours Look into what favour to have Figure our meal (sit down or buffet) find photographer, pay deposit Look at cake makers, pay deposit Look into transport, pay deposit Look into table centre pieces Look for dec if needed (chaircovers, baloons maybe) look for bridal parties clothes shoes and jewellery Find flowers, pay deposit look into hair styles and makeup do i want a video of the day?
Thats just the top half of my list lol but you get the idea, apart from the top 6 items you can do them in any order really. GOOD LUCK

start where you feel comfy - plan your engagement party first if you are having one and if that goes to plan you are set! :) wedding planning for dummies is always a good bet :)

Welcome and congratulations!!
first things first - set a date and book ceremony venue - enjoy your engaement for 6 months and then go into mental bridal frenzy LOL I tried to do loads in those first 6 months and I ended up burning out from being bombarded with so much info! I took a couple of months out over Christmas and planning is steady away now :)
Big things first though reception venue photographer transport THEN dress/shoes/jewellery/hair bits BM dresses groom's suit
Don't sweat the little things like invitations and favours yet - heaps of time for that!!
Enjoy enjoy enjoy!! xxx
It's right what they say

But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

Congratulations and enjoy flashing that ring! We had it easy, as getting married and having the reception at home so we just picked a couple of dates and ran they by the vicar as a first port of call. Most people get the dress first or at least early on, however don't feel pressure to. You really only need to order 4-6 months before the big day so take your time if you need to and do whatever feels right first. Everything else will then fall into place.
